The future of the academy will not be confined to a single method, a single voice, or a single form.

Uncover the mask of hidden value to academic research.

As a political scientist and political linguist, I study how language governs and shapes policy, identity, and belonging. But with A2, I wanted to do something more.

I wanted to show that Poetry is not separate from research. It can literally be the research itself.

Poetry is powerful!

What if we take poetry to organize, reverse “dog whistle politics” to speak power?
What if we use art as scholarship, spit it through prose? What if it is science and methods, politics, and research variables?

Beloved Poetry,

We write to you not as an abstraction, but as a living force—felt, carried, and returned through every breath that dares to name the world anew.

We see you.

It could be asked, could another scholar have done this work? The better question is who has the intellectual lineage, theoretical grounding, pedagogical depth, and disciplinary commitment to define a field at this level?

Dr. Nah Dove and Dr. Molefi Kete Asante do.

The Fourth Amendment once made the home a sanctuary.
The Supreme Court just chipped away at that protection.

These posts bring heartache as much as education. Tough to know how to react. Loved the education, painful the truth of history. May we learn and not return.

Truly incredible. I visited the Lynching Museum in Alabama, as well as Cape Coast and Almina Castle in Africa. There are so many touch points. So many pain points. Only to be where we are in history. We must keep sharing, pushing, educating.

I did not set out to create A2 to blur the line between poetry and scholarship.

A2: A Scholarly Poetical Science Discourse is a research methods text that challenges that divide.
