He probably just assumes Hannity as an Irish type American sends whiskey to his guests.

As FBI Directors normally do in totally legitimate criminal cases, they go discuss the prosecution on Hannity

Our Shared Ethical Compass - Ethics and Journalism Keynote address of the Peter F. Collier Awards for Ethics in Journalism, April 15, 2026 delivered by Marty Baron, acclaimed former executive editor of The Washington Post and The Boston Globe.

“The new owner of CBS and the editor-in-chief of the news division set an explicit objective of appealing to the center right and the center left. That is a political goal. It is not a journalistic one.”

— Marty Baron, former top editor at the Washpost

It can happen, I've seen it, but it's also much less common for an elderly state legislator to keep running for reelection even when they're obviously in unreasonably poor health. A phenomenon which is endemic in Congress in part because there's a whole machine of staff and patronage tied up in it.

The point, of course, is not "old people bad." It's that Congress (and POTUS) are demanding, full-time, high-stakes jobs where debilitation or a premature vacancy can have serious negative consequences. That's why you don't see anybody agitating for a mandatory retirement age for state legislators.

It would be my deepest honor to contribute such a corny, nerdy pickup line to your next effort.

I really want a senator, rather than explaining the math, to just say "We all know what's going on here, Mr. Secretary. Trump said a moronic thing and now everyone in the administration, including you, has to pretend it's real. You know it isn't real. But you can't say that because you're a coward."

“Hey, baby, are you the severed head of Medusa? Because looking at you just turned me to stone.”

I speak figuratively, of course. If you happen to have access to a diarrhetic horse and $5 worth of water balloons, you should definitely not take this opportunity to be a legend. That would be wrong. Hilarious, but wrong. Ish.

Every table should have at least one suit or gown redolent of the unmistakable, gag-inducing scent of runny feces. If they’re incapable of shame, they should at least experience embarrassment.

Anyone who lacks the minimal professional ethics to sit this out should arrive at their table with their Armani drenched in ordure.

Anyone who shows up for this travesty is knowingly choosing to act as a prop for authoritarian kabuki because they’re too cowardly or amoral to pass up vapid schmoozing and free drinks. They deserve your contempt, and possibly a few pieces of rotting produce.

I feel like more Democrats who are running this year need to make it clear that they will push for a change in leadership. I'm not sure they understand how angry people are at the current leadership

Wonder if “mic drop” is the euphemism they use around the West Wing for a wet fart that goes a little farther.

Cut from movie due to time constraints was scene where Nixon yells "Quiet Piggy" to correspondent Helen Thomas

Favorite scene in All The President’s Men: Woodward & Bernstein attend White House Correspondents Dinner, hobnob with Nixon Administration officials, have such a swell time that they back off Watergate investigation so they don’t lose their access.

7 hours ago 1582 278 25 15

The irony of this, of course, is that Woodward has spent every year since as the consummate insider White House reporter that everyone uses to settle scores and press advantages.

Not to take away anything from Woodward & Bernstein but Leslie Stahl's role in breaking Watergate to a national audience is often left out of the story.

It’s incredible to me that it’s now totally normal for members of a president’s cabinet to interrupt/scream at members of Congress and blatantly lie under oath.

Just ZERO decorum; these performative “hearings” are still being treated like they’re anything other than attempts recording viral clips.

a proportionate *and necessary* response, without which the current extremely illegitimate Republican Supreme Court will thwart other such responses.

New poll: 55% support impeaching Trump Support for impeachment rivals levels during Donald Trump's first presidency, when he was impeached twice, and for impeaching Richard Nixon after the Watergate scandal

one of the things that's important about this milestone is that there is absolutely nothing in the immediate offing that could possibly reverse this sentiment; this is an administration that's physiologically incapable of fixing a problem

" I have the utmost respect for Senator Laine and Senator Warner but we do not need 'coaching' on redistricting coming from a cuck chair in the corner. How about you all stay focused on the fascist in the White House and let us handle redistricting in Virginia. 10-1"
