A roughly blocked out water well in a top-down perspective done in pixel art
To expand slightly on this - in general we keep things generally showing both 'top' and 'front' at relatively even proportions. Try constructing objects from flatter shapes to begin with, focusing on getting the weights of things feeling good. This is how I would start a top down well:
It can be a difficult perspective to work in but a good general rule (that it's also okay to break!) is to avoid for-shortening. Top-down is a pseudo 3-dimensional view where as you get further back (farther up the grid), tiles remain the same width (so objects with ACTUAL perspective feel off).

Did you do anything you can think of regarding save data that might have triggered this? i.e. deleted saves in game or moved any files.
Also just fyi - Steam Cloud saves are kept in this directory - \Steam\userdata\<youruserid>\1960480\remote\saves - I'd make sure they're not there, too.
