Housing is infrastructure – and we don't have enough. Next term, I'm prioritizing workforce housing, supportive housing, green density, and unlocking funding. Stable housing = stable communities. Let's build – together 💜✊🏽 #TeamTeresa

You can't build half a system. 🚆✊
Wednesday night, West Seattle showed up and made that clear. Youngstown Cultural Arts Center was wall-to-wall neighbors, workers, and advocates – all united behind one message: keep building.
The board decision is coming. We are not stopping now.
Feeling grateful 💜
Nothing threatens patriarchy more than a unionized woman. This Women's History Month, I'm carrying the legacy of Dolores Huerta, Frances Perkins, and Addie L. Wyatt forward – fighting for union apprenticeships, job-training, and living wages for women and workers of color. 💪🏽💜

Solidarity with Dolores ✊🏽
Transit equity is on my mind this Women's History Month. Unreliable buses and roads hit women and workers of color hardest. I'm fighting for better Sound Transit, safer Metro buses, and road repairs in White Center and Vashon Island. Connected communities are stronger communities. 🚌🛣️💜

There is still work ahead – including securing more funding for water taxis and sound transit in the future 😉. But this session laid a strong foundation for a Washington that works for everyone.
Thank you to every legislator who fought hard for our communities. 🙏
✅ Public health funding – keeping vaccine guidance in the hands of scientists, not politics
✅ $237 million for affordable housing
✅ $1.5 billion for roads, bridges, and transportation infrastructure
… and so much more.
✅ A Millionaires' Tax – a progressive income tax that expands the Working Families Tax Credit, funds affordable childcare, & sends rebates to nearly half a million families
✅ The Domestic Workers Bill of Rights – finally extending labor protections to nannies, housekeepers, home care workers, & more
Congratulations to the Washington State House and Senate on a truly historic session!
This session, our legislators delivered:
Women's history is labor history – and nowhere is that clearer than the childcare crisis.
The gender wage gap, women's economic instability, and unaffordable childcare are not separate issues. They are the same issue and it's time we treated them that way.

Beyond grateful to have the endorsement of the United Farm Workers and their President, Teresa Romero.
@ufw.bsky.social has spent decades fighting for the dignity and rights of farmworkers, and their support means everything to me. I will never stop working to earn it. ¡SÍ SE PUEDE! 💜💪🏽

King County Council just passed my moratorium on any new detention facilities in unincorporated areas of King County. Thank you to my council colleagues who co-sponsored and supported the legislation. #TeamTeresa
NO to war with Iran!
I’m joining community & labor leaders to call for a state Millionaire’s Tax.
To protect health care, housing, childcare & education, we need fair revenue – not more burden on working families.
Strong public health requires a strong workforce.
From pandemic response to overdose prevention, progress happened because public health workers showed up. We must keep investing in them.

We stand united against attempts to divide us. It’s never been clearer that an attack on one of us is an attack on all of us. We are stronger together an we won’t back down. @councilmember-amr.bsky.social @senayet.bsky.social
Overdose deaths declined 32% in just two years because public health investments work.
We must continue expanding behavioral health care and supporting the workforce that delivers it to close persistent disparities.
Progress is possible if we stay committed. 💜✊🏽

Proud to stand w/ my colleagues across the region to make a strong statement that we won’t let local government resources be used to do the federal government’s bidding! Our region’s diversity is our strength, & we have to do everything possible to defend it. @councilmember-amr.bsky.social

“King County Councilmember Teresa Mosqueda has introduced an ordinance that would restrict federal authorities from using county-owned and controlled property for civil immigration enforcement.”
📢New policy just dropped!📢 I was honored to unveil new legislation today that restricts the incursion of federal immigration enforcement agents on county-owned and controlled property, building upon the Welcoming County motion I sponsored this summer!
Grateful for the support of my fellow King County Councilmembers. We’re working together to deliver real results for our communities.
Gun violence is a public health crisis.
Firearm injuries ⬆️62% in King County (2019–2023). In 2024, we saw a 20%⬇️ – proof that prevention works.
But recent shootings, especially impacting young people, remind us: we must do more, and do it now – in partnership with Seattle and local communities.

Public health is justice work. During Black History Month, I’m reflecting on why this work matters – and why I’ll keep doing it. 💪🏽💜

Honored to be endorsed by @mlklabor.bsky.social. Proud to stand with working people across King County. 💜✊

I also extend immense gratitude to Executive @girmayzahilay.bsky.social and Congresswoman @jayapal.house.gov for their support and partnership. And to our constituents, please be assured - there is more work from King County Council on the way.
I am honored to have sponsored a motion that calls upon US Congress to implement significant guardrails around DHS and immigration enforcement agents. Thank you to my co-sponsors - CMs Lewis, Barón, Dembowski, and @kccclaudia.bsky.social - and all my fellow CMs for unanimously passing this motion.
