The contract at Caesars Southern Indiana covering Teamsters 89 and IUOE 399 is now expired. We hope CSI and the EBCI do the right thing and give our members a fair contract, but if not we are prepared to do whatever it takes to win this fight.

Local 89 has had picket extensions set up non-stop at Amazon locations in Shepherdsville, Campbellsville and Northern KY since 6AM yesterday to support the thousands of Amazon Teamsters the company refuses to bargain with, and to send a clear message that the Teamsters are in this fight to win.

At 6:00 AM the Teamsters Amazon National Negotiating Committee began an ULP Strike against Amazon for refusal to bargain with nearly 9,000 Amazon employees who have lawfully organized with the Teamsters, and for countless blatant violations of the NLRA.

Early this morning workers at Robertson Concrete voted to be represented by Teamsters Local 89 by a 2-to-1 margin.

“These guys stood together from the start and never let the union-busting get to them,” said Organizer Wes Odle. “Their solidarity kept them strong and that’s why they won today.”

We are heartbroken to share that retired Local 89 Officer and Agent Kenny Lauersdorf passed away on November 29th at the age of 72. We express our deepest sympathies to his family in their time of mourning, especially to his son Kevin, a longtime Carhaul member who serves as Chief Steward at KTP.

The Louisville-Metro TNBC and Teamsters Local 89 have partnered with Dare to Care for a food drive. If you would like to help those in need, please stop by our union hall before the end of July and place non-perishable food items in any of the Dare to Care labeled boxes you'll see in our hallways.

Reminder: The Teamsters Local 89 Women's Committee will be hosting a Family Day at our union hall this Saturday, July 13th, from 12pm to 3pm. There will be games, prizes, dunk tanks, and vehicles from Local 89 shops for kids to see, and cash food and raffles to raise funds for the Women's Committee.

Local 89 members were in full force at the 2024 Teamsters Women's Conference in Puerto Rico last week. During the multi-day conference, Teamster women from across our union heard from a number of speakers and attended workshops to help further develop their skillsets.
