someone now blocked said this was just hating women? it's crazy that objecting to people adopting antihuman stances is doing misogyny. if you study the text carefully you will find women are actually the largest (many say best) component of humans

There should be a rule against hitting someone's 1st MLB pitch for a home run. 🧑‍⚖️

As a kind of weird accident the combination of Bluesky having a vocal and sometimes psychotic anti-AI contingent but also being founded by AI enthusiasts means it’s kind of stumbled into a very useful place to learn about it, because unlike X/linkedin the pressure against hype is very strong.

It’s definitely not good that there’s a screaming mob that think using Claude kills whales, but it does mean there’s a cross-pressure against “this ChatGPT wrapper CHANGES everything. here’s how:” type shit. I pay much more attention to and take more seriously AI optimist claims I see on here.

Its always so interesting how "Anti-AI extremists" are always "hysterical" and "loud" but AI "enthusiasts" are always just hopeful and optimistic (maybe hyping at best) and nothing else

The one that’s asked my reason I simply told “I don’t trust these companies to properly handle my information, most insurance companies have had data breaches I don’t need even more from these things too” but if they had said anything other than “yeah that makes sense” I would have gone off. 😂

You get rewarded for doing crimes in America as long as you are the correct shade on the color wheel. It’s no wonder the Forbes lists are a murderers row of scammers and thieves.

Zwicky was so disliked by his colleagues that other scientists in the building would start international collaborations on topics that Zwicky was working on down the hall from them on because they would rather have the delays than interact with Fritz

Baade was by all accounts this gentle German guy who just wanted to science and then got paired with Zwicky who specialised in wanting duels and declaring that he was a nazi every time they had a dispute so Baade would literally take his shit and head up the hill when he saw his partner was at work

my fav Zwicky factoid is that the guy was so batshit his literal collaborator on the dark matter paper(who did all the maths because Zwickys speciality was big ideas and doing angry push ups as protest when anyone disagreed with them) Walter Baade, refused to be alone with him in the lab

Both my wife and myself refuse, and I’m much most curt about the request (as it is one of the smaller things my whiteness can offer) and thankfully my PCP is good about it. A couple of specialists whined back about it being “so much easier this way” tough shit it’s part of your job doc.

Zhang Shan won the gold medal for the mixed skeet shooting event in the 1992 Olympics.

The International Shooting Union *immediately* banned women from competing against men.

In Trumpworld, splashy news stories matter more than reality and if you don't think Tim Onion taking InfoWars from Alex Jones as a headline isn't a dub then I don't know what to tell you. If it didn't matter, that dude wouldn't have gone fucking berserk in the first place. Take the w where you can

I keep saying that. NYC had over 2000 murders the year i got arrested. That was a DECREASE from the year before. Last year it was around 300. It's not just safer, it's SIGNIFICANTLY safer.
