The truth we find in fiction is far more valuable than the fictions we find “truth”.

Minnesota AG Keith Ellison
calls out Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) during today’s senate homeland security hearing:
"Are you asking me for comment, Senator?" Ellison asked. "Because everything you said was untrue. It was a nice theatrical performance, but it was all lies."
Truth!
When the second plane hit we knew a new kind of war had begun.

2) Trial
3) Investigation (optional)
When it seems everyone is thinking the same thing, you can be sure that no one is truly thinking at all.
War can only be declared by Congress. Even the AUMF which has been bent and twisted since its inception after 9/11 could hardly justify kidnapping the leader of another country. What will it take before this Toddler in Chief is given a well-deserved time out and spanking?
As an American we know all too well, far too well the pain of such an horrific tragedy and our hearts go out to our Australian cousins in this time of sorrow.
Deadhead fed hair?
Finish your nap, Mr. Presidementia.
So all you conservatives who complain about the Left’s cancel culture must be really cheesed off about this whole Colbert/Kimmel thing, right? I’m sorry I haven’t been able to hear your complaints over all these crickets.
Walz: "It boggles my damn mind that in the midst of a military takeover of our cities, the flaunting of the rule of law, that the press finds the need to talk about, 'Oh, there's a division in the Dem Party.' There's a division in my damn house & we're still married and things are good. That's life"
was made manifest in the orange abomination that soils his diaper in the White House, an American Nero who floats and fiddles as his Big Beautiful Bucket of BS burns down what’s left of our country.
July 4, 2025, isn’t America’s birthday. I fear it's her wake.

Meanwhile, the uber-wealthy oligarchs suck even harder at the teat of our government leaving the poor and the marginalized to whither and starve. And all because the ignorant, fearful, racist id of our collective society (4/5)
They are becoming the new American Gestapo. Healthcare for my daughters and employment for my wife are in jeopardy now. We have an administration that openly boasts of its cruelties as it stomps past due process. Disease control, food safety, and air travel safety is crumbling before our eyes. (3/5)
But that’s all changed now,
hasn’t it?
And not just for me, I know.
This isn’t just political sour grapes. Proud Boy thugs are cosplaying as HSI or ICE “law enforcement” are snatching people, often law abiding citizens--far from “the worst of the worst” propagandized criminals.(2/5)
Coming of age during Watergate I was raised to love my country but to always be skeptical of its leaders. Still, I cling to a Mr. Smith Goes to Washington model as an ideal to strive for. In the last decade or so I started watching 1776 nearly every 4th of July. (1/5)
Dropping ever lower in the polls. Embarrassing birthday parade disaster. Immigration cruelties not playing as positive as planned. What's a tyrant to do?
AH HAH!
Join your friend Bibi's war and create a new shiny distraction for the press before anyone notices how terribly you are failing.
Sec’y Noem just prior to ejecting Senator Padilla, “We are staying here to liberate the city from… the burdensome leadership that this governor and that this mayor have placed on this country and what they have tried to insert into the city.”
She will remove the leadership of mayor and governor?!
Of course the Dems are under water. With the exception of a few outliers, their hand-wringing inaction while our democracy crumbles and the Constitution is ignored with no real push back showed a profound lack of leadership at a time when we truly need an opposition party.
Americans love the "strong man as hero" trope. We root for the guy who "plays by his own rules", whatever to get the bad guys. Hence, praise for DJT's "bold, take action, decisiveness". But that's not democracy and we are losing our fealty to the Constitution and against tyranny.

Before we celebrate the big, 2300 point gain in the stock market yesterday, let us not forget the nearly 5000 point drop following the Liberation Day tariffs. Oh, look the market remembered as half of that gain was then immediately lost this next day.
I don’t know how much more winning we can take.
Let these DOGE feel your pain.
Keep it nonviolent.

What could be more American than buying your way into citizenship?

Resist so that the world may see.
Or, even if they can’t, resist anyway.
Fun fact: “red hat” is an anagram of “hatred”.
