Happy Binky Day! On July 29, 1994, Binky the polar bear grabbed a foolish tourist at the Alaska Zoo, broke her leg, and famously kept a shoe. That shoe is displayed at the zoo gift shop. Binky died in 1995 from a parasitic disease. #alaskahistory #alaska #anchoragehistory
