I read this review by @zaaack.bsky.social and...
1. I'm still not sure what the game is, but
2. I want it anyway

Team Footnotes, ready for duty
Hi I wrote about the making of classic platformerChuckie Egg and talked to its creator Nigel Alderton. Please give it a read as I want to show there’s an audience for this gaming history stuff 🙏

(And happy 8th birthday to me having a Variety column. I miss it. Thanks @crecente.bsky.social!!)
Happy 8th birthday to when Nintendo released a DIY interactive cardboard kit on the same day Sony released God of War.

I saw a post about this and almost didn't believe it was real. Pretty wild.

Happy to hear the Himmer brood will be represented in Mi-ville
A physical copy of Tomodachi Life for a Switch, held by a man who could stand to cut his fingernails
I went to the Electronics section. I saw 1 copy locked behind glass.
I asked an employee to unlock the case. I told him the game. “Oh wow,” he said. He was about to grab TL for a Pick Up order; the page was up on his phone. He let me buy it instead.
Sorry random person. It pays to leave the house!
So I checked nearby Best Buy, Target, Walmart, and Gamestops…none had Tomodachi Life in stock.
That’s about 8 stores in a 15 mile radius.
All would deliver but not until Wednesday. Not even Amazon could ship it before then.
On my way to the gym I popped into the Walmart on the way, just to see…
I'm gonna wait to read it in print, but sharing it here on the off-chance it gets an internet stranger to subscribe in order to know the truth about Free Restaurant Bread.
Thank you @caity.bsky.social

Hanif is the man.
Only a paragraph in and I can see exactly what you mean re: HED vs. essay
Not always into the retro game history vids, but this one by @74xx.bsky.social is WILD, (GUN)MAN.

My local Target store is sold out; my two nearest Best Buys have 1 copy remaining each. Either they did not receive many in the first place or people be buying the hot new Mii game.
If I don’t grab Tomodachi Life at retail soon, does anyone think it’ll be hard to grab a physical copy later? Not sure how many boxes they’re putting in stores with a release like this…
And then while I was there, I definitely put 20 minutes into Let's Catch, tossing the ball with my old pal Yuto and hearing about how his dad never attends his baseball games, which hits harder now than in 2009, since just last night I went to see my 7-year-old play in his little league game.
In preparation of Tomodachi Life, I definitely just spent 8 minutes on the Wii's Mii Channel sending 2007-era characters to my 2015-era New 3DS so I can then save them onto different amiibo in order to transfer them onto my 2026-era Switch island.
EPD #4 just keeps doin' their own thing.
@marioprime.bsky.social on the next goofy smile-maker from Kyoto's Mii team

On the eve of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream's release, I finally have to walk back my 2017 eulogy for Nintendo's once-ubiquitous Mii.
The Mii walks among us again. The Mii lives and shall flourish once more. Long may you roam our cartoon islands.

At first I thought this article, which quotes me, was an AI-infected slop job by a non-human.
BUT then I realized it's for a high school newspaper? And maybe the bad writing is just an earnest, flawed attempt to make something?
Judge for yourself.

If you're going to listen to anyone about art in the age of AI, listen to Colson Whitehead.

Am I the weirdo tilting his head to read those Wii spines and trying to mind-photoshop the MonHun Tri box out of the pic so I can read the rest? Yes I am.
Wasn't that published by Choice Provisions? Didn't realize Gage had his hand in it either. Was always curious about this one (and another post BIT.TRIP curio, Laserlife)
Between this and Tomodachi, my S1 OLED is gonna be lapping my S2 in playtime this year.
I came here to say what everyone above me already said:
Outstanding cover.

Yaxel is just one piece but demonstrates why this might be my favorite Mich team I’ve watched.
Unselfish. Team player. Honest. Full effort on both sides of the court.
Will be cheering for him wherever he lands.
GO BLUE!!!
And.... taxes done! Nine days left to all my fellow late filers.
I admired his skill but never loved the attitude. A grown man should not throw a temper tantrum at his job. Slamming his clubs on the ground in anger should have been a sign that perhaps he was not in control as much as we thought.
