Marsha's Law

You may have ready about Rachel Waters, who was charged with murder for administering a small therapeutic dose of morphine to her actively dying mother that was provided by hospice services; families providing comfort to dying family members are still not protected in the US.

Wow, Apple! This UI change sure is garbage and does put every option I regularly use under a series of menus or on the opposite side of the screen to where it used to be! Love that you decided to flip-flop “save” and “exit” buttons, too!

It was me. It was my fat ass. Sorry.

Yes. In those cases it gets soundly rejected under scrutiny and often the behavior is traced back to before the fiction ever came into play, or is recognized as irrelevant in the face of overwhelming mental health issues.

Side note: the few cases that pop up citing fiction as the reason for harm are simply people who don’t want to take accountability for doing something horrible. And by allowing that as an excuse society encourages a lack of responsibility and introspection for how we get to points of violence.

Yup! It’s inane for people to think they are the only ones consuming it “correctly” and usually means they can’t see past extremely surface level themes… and IMO they are examples of the Dunning-Krueger effect most of the time.

I mean studies show the opposite is true and that most people consuming dark or disturbing media can handle it just fine and don’t act on anything dangerous because of it.

I love being terrible at chess. I love having no idea how to do a proper checkmate. I love sacrificing all of my pawns fewer than ten moves in. People devote their entire lives to it and I’m just like “wheeeeee horsies”

It is an inherently conservative mindset to claim that you are one of a small group of people able to *morally* consume media you find to be immoral, or capable of seeing the immorality of it, and almost always paired with an extreme level of hypocrisy and media illiteracy.

Man I never even saw Hamilton and people’s inability to let people enjoy a fictionalized version of a thing is nuts to me.

I was not impressed and part of the reason why I didn’t get into OFMD to see those fans harassing Hamiliton fans over romanticizing history when they did the same thing with their show.

Is there anything funnier than seeing someone post about “losers pretending to be activists over fiction, stop harassing ppl, let ppl ship stuff”
And then you look, and they also have posted “some fiction creators NEED to be harassed! p r0ship DNI”

Like….

There will never be a time I want to read or hear “bed rotting” or “girlies” in an ad for anything. That particular attempt at being parasocial with a random audience only comes off as sexist and demeaning. Nobody is a company’s “girly” and “bed rotting” is ableist capitalist drool talk. Shut up.

it also makes it so although I can tell *something* is different when someone grows or shaves a beard, I cannot for the life of me tell you what that something is, nor can I remember once told when they did or did not have it

have realized recently that my face-blindness makes me unable to recognize if people are Asian (or mixed race when one of the races is Asian, I guess)

I am bad enough that I could not tell the difference between Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie at first.

he was too docile to pull hair but I am sure Hannibal made some for him for every meal

2 months ago 1 0 0 0

Hannibal did keep his emotional support rat with him at all times. It was a very large rat. He held it against his chest and shoulder while he served dinners.

Will started jogging and just refused to acknowledge Hannibal most of the time. It was not good.

Then there was a proper fifth season but it had to resolve the weirdness of season four before it could get to Hannibal and Will being murder husbands again.
