4/4 My Robot Teacher activity: I follow student pseudocode live in Minecraft exactly as written. If they forget to say “turn left,” I walk into a wall. The errors are the lesson. Post is on Substack: the research, the reframe, and the debrief questions. Lab is open. #CTEScholar #IndianaEducation

3/4 The Kapor Foundation’s CS equity research frames pseudocode as a tool that lowers the barrier of entry for students who are intimidated by code. You prove to yourself that you understand the problem before you have to prove it to a compiler. That’s Engineering Justice in a lesson plan.
2/4 Research on novice programmers is clear on this: when students try to solve the problem AND recall the syntax AND execute the code all at once, the cognitive load is too high. Pseudocode splits the work in half. Logic first. Translation second. Two passes, not one.
1/4 The most important part of coding happens away from the keyboard. Before my students touch Minecraft Education this fall, they are going to learn pseudocode the logic before the language. Here is why that matters, and how I teach it. #CTEScholar #LearnInPublic #EngineeringJustice
2/2 I teach and I am on camera all of the time for virtual synchronous classes, why can I not do it for everyone?
Learning in public means the nerves get shown as well. I hope to have my first videos up this weekend.
1/2 I am slow rolling a YouTube channel. I created it today. I am terrified. I cannot tell my students to push past the discomfort of learning something new ands then avoid the camera myself.
I fell behind posting my journey. Here is a link to my Substack. Please follow along.

3/3 The CTE Scholar is for educators who can't find what works. Engineers who want to make training videos. Anyone afraid of AI and posting. That last one is me right now. Doing it anyway. Substack link in bio.
2/3 Claude showed me my dissertation foundation was already solid. My committee revision isn't a rebuild — it's a realignment. Sometimes your instincts were right and the methodology just needs to catch up.
1/3 I was afraid to use AI. Today I stopped waiting. Uploaded my dissertation to Claude, broke the AI Wizard in Instadoodle, tried NotebookLM for the first time. Made a lot of mistakes. Kept going. That's day one. #CTEScholar #LearnInPublic
Please take the time to read my new SubStack post. I would appreciate it. #academicSky #CAD #Engineeringjustice #onlinelearning #STEM

I wanted to share my Substack. I am just starting out, but hope you would like to follow my journey.

I started a substack and wanted to share my first article in the #AcademicSky group. I am new to posting , but I am slow rolling my website and SubStack. I hope you all will come along for the ride.
That would make everyone leave.
My son’s Minecraft builds look better and he is in elementary school.
This looks like a group I need to follow.
I sit through IEP's at least once a week for work. We try to make the best for the students. My son has an IEP. My daughter has a 504 because she has HMS. I am a teacher. Between the healthcare for my family and the care of the students it has been a rough couple of weeks.
I will always fight for the women in my life. I have been to and participated in several protest from women's rights to education in my state. No matter what I think of the other people that are against the things I stand for it is hard for me to use name calling as a strategy.
