And no, this destructive nature does not define humanity either. Many communities live in harmony with nature. Many First Nations/Native American communities do so even today.

What bothers me most about this rhetoric, that humans are somehow supurior to other living beings, is that it enables environmental destruction and the exploitation of our planet's resources without remorse.

Why are so many humans obsessed with validating their sense of importance?

Art, language, intelligence, emotion and sex drive are not specific to the human experience. Numerous knowledge systems in cultures across the world, and even modern science, recognizes this.

Just be happy being yourself.
