Which, given the stark contrast of moving from a group of geniuses that regularly had me think I should go back to elementary school to an environment of general mediocrity makes sense. But is also very confusing. The lack of self awareness on the organisational level is astounding.
So far my experience moving from academia to industry is less trust and agency towards employees and less technical competency and (maybe due to the former) effort to compensate for it from management. All while constantly telling themselves comforting lies about their excellence.
Any of my mutuals got good sources to learn the "Management sees your technical expertise, system- and long-term thinking as something between confusing and annoying due to a combination of lack of technical understanding and short-sightednes"-type of people skills?
I think we're on the wrong ends of the world for that. Or is that what the whole "lives rent free in my head" part is about?
Are you harboring catgirls?
I just learned that I could use handy with parakeet to transcribe me talking and then feed it into qwen3.5 9B for post processing where I tell it to interpret my blurps as the description for R code. It's 100% local and feels like magic.

You can't do that without sharing a link!
Only just saw this now. Can I tell myself that my dagriculture and bayesgrove/glade ideas inspired you? Doesn't have to be true, just gonna bag this one hehe.
Always thought finding solutions was the hard part. But it turns out that the hard part is getting those with power to understand that there is a problem and a solution and all they have to do is say "yes, please fix this" and everything gets better for everyone. Weird.
Go on

Or they simply silently reduce limits.
Hypnotic poison or black opium? Neither being pure vanilla but both are in my "mom perfume" register XD

I haven't submitted so there's no date yet.
Print to submit. But I'm not really stressed by the defense or anything after so that kinda signifies the end of the struggle for me.
Nooooooo!
Cards?
I've been working in method development for Bayesian statistics. But I mostly hope they (the academia world) forgets about me and never pings me again. Let me have fun engineering around in the (proverbial) sewers where nobody bothers me.
