This IPSO adjudication against the Telegraph is quite something

Confirms their story titled: ‘We earn £345k, but soaring private school fees mean we can’t go on five holidays’ was completely fabricated, with the family involved non-existent and stock pictures used

Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

They love it. Lots more play at lunch (secondary) as they’re in activewear. Parents appreciate it - less ironing. Attendance is better. They like having the choice.

We moved to PE kits in September and it makes all the difference. Students can choose to wear PE kit each day or full uniform (on days where they don’t have PE) as some of our students enjoy wearing a blazer and tie.

Looking forward to an inspiring day at Strictly RE today. Haven’t been to many conferences in the last year and have missed them. Very fortunate to have a SACRE who funds tickets for local teachers who want to attend.

You’ve taken me back in time with this one! The ‘religion and the media’ units of the GCSEs and entry level quals. Vicar of Dibley, Bruce Almighty, Songs of Praise, reading a Farmington project on how to embed Simpsons episodes into almost every lesson 😬

I love it when I see your threads on lesson topics/questions. It always make me want to come and teach at your Trust. Inspiring!

Kind strangers' gesture after spotting, Gwen, 93, dining alone It was an act of kindness that spurred the 93-year-old to reach out to the ECHO

There’s a lot of anxiety and misery around right now. So I think everyone should read this lovely story about the kindness of strangers. I guarantee it will give you a lift.

So much time for Gwen.

How delicately a Romanesque angel uses the lightest touch of a finger to wake one of the magi, snuggled with the other 2 under their embroidered circular blanket at St Lazare, Autun, c1130 (& how beautifully the textures of pillow & blanket are represented).

Season's greetings to you all!

‘We’ve got more in common than what divides us’: a Muslim-Jewish kitchen in Nottingham counters hate and hunger As antisemitism and Islamophobia rise, a community centre brings people together over shared meals, offering an antidote to food poverty, social isolation and division * Donate to the Guardian Charity Appeal 2025 here * Communities are our defence against hatred. Now, more than ever, we must invest in hope It’s 2.30pm on a Wednesday afternoon and the Himmah Hub, a community centre in Nottingham, is abuzz with activity. Crates of leftover supermarket food are being carried inside, trestle tables assembled, and volunteers are arriving to prepare meals that will be served in a few hours’ time to anyone who needs one – a queue has already begun to form outside. This is the Salaam Shalom kitchen, known as SaSh, a joint Muslim-Jewish project set up in 2015, and based on one of the core tenets of both faith groups: bringing people together through food. It also draws on a north Indian tradition of community meals, with food prepared collectively and duties shared across the village, Sajid Mohammed, director of the Muslim-led social justice initiative Himmah, explains.
