Managed to get the import functionality and sale/payout reconciliation engine done this weekend. Threw some numbers in the dev system and it's coming out quite nicely.

When you realize just how many different ways there are to sell books, and they all have different requirements to calculate profit...

Building this app has opened my eyes to the complexity of our business, but my goal is to make it as simple as possible for my users.

What features would you like to see in your author accounting software? What are your biggest pain points when it comes to tracking your revenue?

I’ve been building a tool to track book sales/expenses because I couldn’t find anything that actually fit how indie authors work.

It’s still early, but if anyone here enjoys testing new tools and giving feedback, I’d really appreciate the help.

Mine is usually when I get to the point of editing and have to decide which parts of my genius I have to cut.

I haven’t seen Star Trek, but that’s a fascinating comparison! My story asks the same question: is a fresh start worth losing the lessons our pain taught us?

I’ve written a short story exploring exactly that:
a world where starting over isn’t just a dream… it’s law.

The Janus Protocol promises a life without pain.
A fresh start. A second chance. A world where January isn’t just a month—it’s a reset.

What if you could erase your worst memories?
Would you take the chance… or let them define you?

I was challenged to write a utopia instead of a dystopia and it completely rewired how I think about conflict, stakes, and humanity.

Growth sometimes comes from turning your instincts upside down.

Try it yourself: write the exact opposite of what you usually do and tell me how it goes.

Writing is strange. You let something go and hope it finds the right people.

I hope you don't mind, I took a look at your profile, and we are very similar people. The Giver was also my introduction and inspiration into the dystopian world. I'll have to pick up a copy of Erased myself.

Hope you are enjoying your holidays! May the dystopia stay within the pages of our books.

Christmas always makes me think about what survives after everything else falls apart... traditions, stories, the ways we choose to care for each other even when the world is broken.

Writing sci-fi taught me that hope doesn’t have to be LOUD to be real.

I write thoughtful sci-fi about survival, identity, and rebuilding after collapse.

My debut novel Fragments of Tomorrow came out recently — it’s quiet, character-driven, and asks what makes humanity worth preserving.

Glad you’re here.

Do you ever get to a point where a 5-star review is just another thing and not something that makes you want to cry with joy?

Day Two of being published: Ten 5-star reviews and too many tissues to count. 😭

#indieauthor #writing

4 months ago 0 0 0 0

That's a very good question. I know that it will take time for reviews to trickle in and word to spread, so I think taking a step back and letting it breathe would be a good move. I've got my ads set up and running, so I'll be reviewing those in the next month or so to see what is and isn't working.

First official day as an indie author:
* Five 5-star reviews
* Two new beta readers for book two
* Three new subscribers to my newsletter
* 16 pre-orders to sign
* 13 copies delivered to eReaders

It may not be much, but it's mine.
Looking forward to day two and beyond!

Tomorrow my debut novel releases.

I don’t know if I’m more proud or terrified, but the train is already moving.

So.... I got 26 pages of feedback from my editor/beta reader, and the gist is that my book is not only marketable, but something that will make waves.

Does happiness feel like you are going to pass out from lack of blood to your brain?

TLDR: I'm dying of emotions, HELP

Was playing around with different scenes from my current WIP and really liked how this one turned out. My first time trying to draw a full image from one line, and let me tell you, it wasn't easy 😂

What does it mean to be human when humanity has already ended?

Fragments of Tomorrow explores identity, control, and love in a world reborn from ruin.
Hope is resistance. Humanity is a choice.
