The news has been more than a bit grim of late, so hooray for @carbonbrief.org providing some genuine and really meaningful **good** news: the UK's carbon emissions in 2024 were the lowest since 1872, because demand for fossil fuels just keeps decreasing.

Huge crowds in SF today for #standupforscience. inspiring stories, not only from scientists like @carolynbertozzi.bskyverified.social, but also people who have lived through life-saving/changing experiences as a direct consequence of federally-funded scientific research 💪🏽

As an expat Brit living in California I must admit I find it quite reassuring listening to debates from the UK around inheritance tax and farming. So nice to hear people discussing actual politics instead of learning about which sex offender is going to run which department of state

John Prescott used to say “when I die all they’ll go on about is that bloody punch!” Well no, they went on about a whole lot more. I did a dozen or so interviews paying tribute today and it was so nice to hear so many recalling him so fondly and recognising his enormous achievers and character

Wii U launched 12 years ago today.

While the system may have failed sales-wise, Nintendo put out VERY good software for it.

The fact that many of Wii U's best games are now Switch's best (and most successful) games, speaks volumes.
