Unfortunately not a picture of splashdown yesterday. Scale of the chutes, direction and scale of the splash, and lack of charring from re-entry on the capsule are all indicators this is a photo illustration rather than reality.

They are an even sort of gray brown. I’m leaning toward woodcock or some other short-tailed shorebird-esque critter. It was delivered to the ledge by a peregrine.
