An excellent clear eyed look at what's been going on. If you haven't read it already do.

I'll never understand how you can pardon someone who hasn't been convicted of anything. Makes no sense.

Just walked into a room in this very house (don't ask) and there on the tellybox was Eddie Hobbs, footage of O'Connell st playing away in the background, explaining the BS going on to Steve Bannon. FFS.

'F***ed off and f***ed over': Fianna Fáil backbenchers furious over handling of fuel protests Anger is mounting in the party as the protest drags on.

Backbenchers wanting the government to hold talks with a group with no defined leaders, who can't define what they want but add to their wish lists daily. Talk about what? And to who? Who has the authority to agree anything on behalf of all of them? And enforce it?

I don't think they do know. They have thought nothing through, are drunk with power, loving every minute of it and because the fash are running around slapping their backs think they have popular support. They are at the asking for ponies stage.

I think it might be one of the stupidest protests I've ever seen. Custom built to lose whatever support you had.

The farmers of Ireland are exporting baby milk powder to China, and butter to America. We import almost everything we eat.

Anytime I read something that starts "People of Ireland against..." I recoil. Gobshites.

Fuel price protests causing second day of disruption There are delays to public transport in Dublin city and fuel depots in Galway and Limerick have been blocked as fuel price protests cause a second day of disruption around the country.

Who is behind this? Never mentioned in news reports. All I read is various organisations saying they are not but their members can do as they please. Do they think blocking Dublin will open the Strait of Hormuz? Way to lose any public support they might have had.

A small cake, beautifully iced and decorated with gold and silver balls and sprinkles. It is wrapped on brown paper held in place with twine.

Look at this beautiful thing? Gift of homemade Paska from a Ukrainian friend. Seems a shame to even think of eating it, but I'll get past that!

During the famine no less. Sure there wouldn't have been a pick of meat on them.

Dunno why, but what popped into my head was Come friendly bombs and fall on Slough. No disrespect to Slough.

The image is split into two sections. The top section contains text on a white background. Below the text, there is an image showing a triple cat bowl holder. It is a wooden stand holding three round bowls, each filled with brown cat kibble, placed against a wall on a light wood floor. The second section of the image shows three cats eating from the bowls. The cats' bodies overlap, with a white cat on the left, a black cat in the middle, and an orange tabby cat on the right, making it difficult for them to fit neatly into the bowl spaces.

Bought a triple cat bowl holder so when they’re eating the mogs can line up perfe... Oh, never mind.

There was a lot of stuff about how I think the middle east will affect things, and another tranche about cycling/cycling infrastructure. That was a kind of isolated question, in no particular context.

I particularly dislike the "It has gone too far" option. The refrain of a bigot.

A survey asking for an opinion on the Irish government's handling of immigration. The options ask you to say whether you think there is movement in the 'right' or 'wrong' direction. Right and wrong are not defined.

This has to be the most ambiguous question I've ever been asked on a survey, a high bar. What way is which?

When our dog died, her cat friend would sit meowing in her bed for hours at a time. When we put the bed away she slept for several nights on the bare floor where it had been. It was heartbreaking.

Good luck with the guards caring. They fly over our garden all the time, sometimes even hover for a bit, and nothing is done. Friend in Dublin is driven mad by neverending delivery ones over and around his, three visible at the same time not long ago.

Ireland should be green on that map. We had birthright citizenship until it was abolished in a 2004 referendum.

Held the same day as national and EU elections, much of the debate fell between the cracks, many now say they don't remember it. But the people spoke, the b******s. To our shame.

Yeah not exactly a new idea, I did a piece about this in 2009, updated since. Don't think there are 23 though and some you might not want to claim.

As a vet, I encountered almost every breed you can think of and these were not even nearly the most likely to be difficult to handle or to bite you. BUT I still think they should be banned.

There is a big owner problem and if they do attack it can be really catastrophic. They are unsuitable pets.

Have another of these in the oven as I write, my fourth. Wonderful recipe. A couple of observations.

The filling tends to separate when the rum is added. Just beat the living hell out of it after adding the almonds & it comes back together.

Any pastry cut offs make amazing biscuits!

Honestly I won't be crying any tears when Mr Cleese dies either. Not wishing it on him, but he is also a POS.

Do you know is there some way of adding one? I know of one in Kilkenny, where there's a gap on that map.

TBF it's not possible to be there all the time. They may be attending committees, or doing any of the many other things that are part of the job. Debates in the house can be followed remotely. They often are all there for important votes and on other occasions.

YouTube and TikTok have had a huge effect (not a good one) on people my age and older. A lot of them will believe anything and don't recognise rabbit holes . So many times I'm told some crap, ask where they got it and "Someone on YouTube" is all they have. AI is making it way worse.
