our sign off for the season comes under better auspices. (I had a stroke last fall) . What a fun year, and how fun it was to read you document it. GO Hawks!
Seahawks fans owe a debt of gratitude to Sam Darnold. He went from "seeing ghosts" to helping Seahawks fans exorcise the ghosts haunting us from XLIX! Thanks, Sam!

I loved how imperfect perfect this team was.
There's a lot of America that i wont lift a finger for, but I'll fight for the one I'm seeing today. Also there is something beautifully human about the hawks, something so imperfectly perfect.

Stoked to have a new interview with Katie Wilson (no relation), Seattle's new mayor, Transit Riders Union co-founder, and living proof that bold vision for (and wonky obsession with) transportation reform can win elections.
Hey, if you’re a Seattle/WA author with a book coming out next year and you have a firm pub date, please let me know for potential inclusion in the Seattle Times’s 2026 book preview. (Space is limited but I’ll do my best.)

AOC: "This is about, do you understand the assignment of fighting fascism right now? And they assignment is to come together across difference no matter what."
Mamdani: "New York will remain a city of immigrants, a city built by immigrants, powered by immigrants, and as of tonight, led by an immigrant."
So much of the young Jesse at his best. So much of the magic in our old labor masters in his words. Such a gift to make everyone feel they have a stake in this. So much about us, we, and a politics that feels like a light that defied a darkness that has plagued our team for so long.
MbilI - Martinez is a great fight
Very curious to see if these comedians are given a list of topics they’re not allowed to joke about at the festival. Do you think they’ll risk their paychecks to bravely uphold the values of free speech and speaking truth to power that they’re always going on about?
You helped me get on my feet so I could do this touring and traveling. You made sure I could eat, have my meds, and get back to health. That's enough of a birthday present for me, and I thank you for it.
I am incredibly grateful for my Cascade and beyond friends who helped me with food money and gigs, which prevented me from going to the state hospital. Rib and hip complications from a bad fall + a college gig whose check went south left me in a horrible predictament food wise today...
Outside of my poetry life, I have been struggling very much. In April, a colleague and distant cousin who stole from my late aunt showed up to my house with a gun. He got arrested, but the functional left from my "functionally disabled" title. paypal.me/misterlashley
Hmmmm. Chris Rufo was really angry about Claudine Gay's missing citations, but this report doesn't seem to bother him at all. I wonder what the difference could be?
It's been a brutal half a year( elections, two guns pulled on my head, a stroke, and brutal fall down a hill) But I'm getting better and am excited to give you my collected works this fall.

Thank you for the kind words. Megan( Re: town hall) I take y'alls esteem seriously. I'm just going to work on being a better writer and human every day, but I'm glad that a coalition of new folks and lit vets still wants me around.
AOC: I was watching earlier today on TV, someone was saying, “Why are AOC and Bernie going to Idaho?”
I’ll give you one simple answer: It’s because you matter
Under con- ditions so desperate, the hard, marvelous task of this century is to create justice in the most unjust of worlds, and to protect freedom from those souls who, out of principle, choose servitude. If we fail, man will return to darkness. But at least we will have fought to find light.

People are angry; town halls overflow to capacity. Many are scared, concerned, and ready (after two months) for a new direction. If you wonder why Bernie and AOC are drawing such massive crowds, you must watch this video. This eighty-three-year-old man and a former waitress are electric.
