I submitted my dissertation to ProQuest this morning. For the first time in years, today was the day I felt like there wasn’t a weight on my shoulders or a task that couldn’t wait, but I honestly didn’t know what to do with myself. #phd #dissertation #phdlife #imadoctornow

Big improvement over volume 8.
I enjoy mine, but it depends on if you’re wanting Switch 2 exclusives or access to GameCube games. But honestly, I’m already thinking it was unnecessary to buy my PS5, which at this point is just used to play occasional DVDs and Blu-rays.
I’m going to fill out the survey and say it there as well, but no AI for translations, otherwise you lose this customer.
For those who have forgotten the past 40 years:
Tax cuts for the rich
...don’t trickle down
Boosting military spending
...doesn’t bring peace
Slashing regulations
...doesn’t create jobs
Folks, we’ve seen this all before.
I always thought the end of 1984 when the Party announces they’d switched allegiances in the war and were now enemies with their former ally, and the people accept it immediately and unquestioningly after a few seconds as unbelievable. MAGA and Republicans have shown me otherwise this past year.
As excited as part of me wants to be, I completely agree. It’s been too long, we’ve seen who the creator and some of the actors truly are, and it’s just not relevant any longer.
Society has simply progressed past Firefly. We don’t need to bring it back.
I hadn’t used ChatGPT since playing with it right after it came out, but when I saw OpenAI is courting the Department of Defense, I logged in and deleted my account. I hate it here.
The chief of police of quakertown Pennsylvania choked a teen girl on camera and the footage is on the Pennsylvania subreddit.
I submitted my dissertation to my committee yesterday. I cried a little because this is finally happening after COVID and life interrupted everything. There may never be a job out there in the field for me, but I will have my PhD. #phd #phdlife #dissertation #medievalliterature
My mentor approved the final chapter of my dissertation. Looks like this is finally going to happen after COVID and life got in the way. Still need to do some editing and get through the defense, but I feel pretty elated atm. #dissertation #phd #phdlife #medievalliterature
That sounds like a wonderful idea! And I completely understand; my own mother passed in 2012.
It’s a pleasure to meet you! And I actually really enjoyed it a lot and bought the ebook of Princess of the Chameln but haven’t read it yet. And I would have loved to read more of Gael’s adventures. I’m very sorry she passed.
I just realized Home Alone 2 is actually pretty prescient. Trump owned the Plaza Hotel at the time, and the employees we meet are a bunch of incompetent buffoons who clearly have no business working in those positions. #homealone #trump #FDT

Was gifted my first one today. I forgot about them tbh, but now I’m not sure how to feel. Kind of pointless just for some physical case art.
AOC: I want to remind you where the real crime is. It's in the oligarchs taking $170 billion of our money from health care and food assistance and public programs and taking that and funneling it into a secret police program.
Yep! My truck driving father raised me on gas station coffee, so I don’t have high standards, but car dealership coffee is a special kind of bad.
Two books, The Works of the Gawain Poet and The Wanderer by Cherry Wilder and Katya Reimann, resting on a beat up table at the car dealership with a crappy cup of coffee nearby.
The weekend snowstorm made my car lose its mind. So, I’m sitting at the dealership waiting hours for them to replace the air pressure sensors in the tires (modern cars drive me crazy sometimes). At least I have some boon (book) companions for company. #booksky #gawain

2025 Reading Recap! I read 22 books this year, only one of which was a reread. * Best — Pachinko by Min Jin Lee * Most Disappointing — Babel, Vol. 1 by Kuji Furumiya * Funniest — Fahrenheit-182 by Mark Hoppus * Longest — Wind and Truth by Brandon Sanderson * Most Overhyped — Star Wars: Dark Disciple by Christie Golden (I didn’t care for it) * Most Underhyped — Star Wars The High Republic: Into the Dark by Claudia Gray (Fantastic) * Most Surprising — Sword of the Demon Hunter, Vol. 1 by Motoo Nakanishi * Best Fantasy - Sabriel by Garth Nix (I read a lot of great fantasy this year, so this was a difficult choice)
I’m doing my 2025 reading wrap a few weeks early because I don’t think it’s likely I’ll finish my current book before the end of the year. So here’s my full list per Fable as well as my completely arbitrary “awards.” #booksky #starwars #starwarsbooksky #fantasy #fantasybooksky
I’ll be making my own list of books read in 2025 soon, but here’s what Fable came up with. #booksky #starwars #starwarsbooksky #lightnovels #fantasybooksky
Book cover of “The Wanderer” by Cherry Wilder and Katya Reimann, published by Tor books in 2004. The cover features artwork of an armored woman carrying a spear slung over her shoulder on horseback atop a grassy hill, her red hair blowing in the wind. Facing away from her and below and to her left are a few different men wearing black hoods with long tails. One man has no hood but his long black hair streams out behind him and he wears a golden circlet.
Picked up some old fantasy books at the thrift store recently, all with female protagonists. Decided to start with this one, The Wanderer by Cherry Wilder and Katya Reimann. It’s a spin off or a standalone, which I didn’t realize, of another series by Wilder, but oh well. Liking it so far #booksky
I read at least three trilogies but eventually stopped because I just wanted poor Drizzt to catch a break lol. One of the reasons I stopped reading Star Wars Legends books too.
I read The Dark Elf trilogy years ago and was shocked by how good it was.
More of this nationwide please!
Jacki’s cool. Seems like a genuinely very nice person. Glad to see her getting work.
I loved the anime back in the day and really enjoyed the first two volumes. I’m really looking forward to volume 3!
