Have you ever Googled something like "boho Christmas shower curtain" and wondered "how did I get here"?

I somehow missed all of the Blood & Honey drama. OMG. "Unwittingly strayed into a Chinese crackdown on Winnie-the-Pooh imagery that was sparked by memes likening the character to Xi Jinping" and "a teacher in Florida accidentally played the decidedly R-rated film to a class of fourth graders."
The Smithsonian should put this quote on a t-shirt and sell it in its gift shops.
"So far this year, 30% of white-collar workers with access to paid leave have taken sick time, up from 21% in 2019." That means 70 percent of workers are still guilted into not using sick time — probably significantly more when you also include those who aren't paid when out sick.

I've seen them in concert multiple times, and every time someone finds that out they're like [insert Wee-Bey gif here].
Should I be annoyed that my husband got his zombie beep like a full minute before I got mine? Or glad that I'll get somewhat of a warning if he starts to turn?
THR's TV critics took on an impossible task: Ranking the best 50 shows from the past quarter-ish century. Come for the list itself, stay for gems like a "Jolly Green Jizzface" reference and a (totally warranted) George RR Martin burn. www.hollywoodreporter.com/lists/best-t...
How much did this cost and whyyyy? To get people to watch an early game? To make AI less "scary"? I can't imagine it's working as intended. (Though I guess I'm sorta talking about football and usually wouldn't be, and the only bad publicity is no publicity, or whatever.)
Two animated NFL announcers sitting at a desk in Andy's room from Toy Story.
Maybe they'll get it together, but so far this 'Toy Story' NFL game is a disaster. The announcers look fine, but elsewhere it's arms through legs, weird camera angles that miss the action and jerseys marked Unknown.
A very fun (and more than a little horrifying) piece by my extremely talented colleague Rebecca Keegan: "My book about Cameron foretelling a dangerous rise in the intelligence of computers is helping to accelerate the intelligence of computers."
All I want for Christmas is for someone in the Senate to do this:
I know this wasn't the point, but I saw this and immediately thought, "There's ANOTHER company that is this into Halloween?!?!" Nope. Googled it and Karen is my corporate sibling. ☠️
Then they got to the sweary bit, and I'm wondering if I'm actually THAT stubborn.
I'm (somehow) watching my first full Hot Ones (because NSYNC), sitting over here very confidently being like "It's not that bad. I could fake my way through this."
It's a very fun fact! I'm looking forward to throwing it out from time to time so I can watch people have the reaction I just had.
Is this common knowledge? Or is it the kind of thing where you only know it if you grew up in Houston?
Wait. It's called AstroTurf because the Houston Astros were the first to use it?! Watching Apollo 10 1/2 and Richard Linklater just blew my mind.
OMG There are welcome kittens here? I love this place.
Thanks so much! This is all very helpful — looking forward to the nerdy, weird and cool house party.
Thank you! I feel like someone ought to break down all these sites as if they were crazy relatives at a holiday dinner so we know what the right vibe is for each.
No clue what a first skeet (ugh, really?) is supposed to be, so I'll go with a PSA: Dark chocolate chips mixed into peanut butter is way more satisfying than Reese's. You get a custom PB-to-chocolate ratio and, for some reason, it feels healthier. (Please don't tell me if it isn't.)
