I see there are already two series of "The Pitt", disappointingly not called "Pitt the Elder" and "Pitt the Younger".

Extract from GB News story:

A GP who asked a Muslim woman to remove her veil "because he was struggling to understand her" has been struck off.
Back in 2022, Keith Wolverson was suspended for nine months over misconduct claims after he "caused" the patient to remove the covering following repeated requests for her to do so - and criticised patients' fluency in English.
He subsequently attempted to argue the Muslim "spoke poor English" and her veil was making it hard to "understand her"
A later tribunal found the woman was fluent in English and his complaint was "dishonest".

It's just a minor side point on this story, but take a look at how GB News wrote about the mother in this case - they call her "the Muslim".

WTF?

What an awful way to describe the woman in this story, the woman who was not only disrespected by this doctor, but also lied about.

So no, he wasn't struck off for asking a Muslim woman to remove her veil.

He was struck off for multiple counts of serious misconduct, including lying during an official investigation, followed by working 17 times while suspended, and THEN refusing to engage with the GMC about returning to work

Was this GP struck off just because he asked a Muslim woman to remove her veil?

How likely does that sound? 🤷‍♀️

Did he actually ask her to remove her veil 'because he was struggling to understand her?'

Let's take a look at what really happened based on the tribunal reports...

I often think that. We are right, and also terribly pedantic.

Monday evening tip, direct from Goethe:

“Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, magic, and power in it. Begin it now.”

#beginit

(So many of the people I admire on here have, indeed, begun it.)

It’s right under your nose – why some people can’t find things in plain sight Your brain isn’t just looking – it’s predicting. Here’s why that means you can stare straight at something and still not see it.
