Such a fun band. Well worth exploring.

Similar, though leaning more into the soul side, have a look for Sault.

A great turnout from Queensbury Queens at the start of the George Herbert Stancer memorial ride, an annual e event where riders from all over Yorkshire ride to Pocklington to commemorate the former head of CTC @cyclinguk.bsky.social

Number of cars or vans - Census Maps, ONS Census maps is an interactive tool to explore Census 2021 data across England and Wales for different topics down to a neighbourhood level.

I saw similar data when there was ranting around here about the council introducing a minimal charge on car parks.

Across the city about 30% of households don't have access to a car/van, but this rises considerably in less affluent areas.

“As you can see, it’s been brought to an entire standstill”.

Except for the bike lane… that lady riding past couldn’t have been any better timed. 🤣

Trying to communicate something, just not sure what!

One slight issue I may have with 55mph specifically is HGVs. If I motorway drive it's at around 60mph, but I find 50mph through roadworks scary because HGV drivers seem to sit on the limiter (56mph) until very close to the bumper.
I think it would need action to address such tailgating.

Although it sounds ridiculous at first, that's not far off the automatic response of the system to the notorious 1202 alarm on the Apollo 11 mission - do a soft reset of the computer. Interesting bit to read on if you're so inclined. 🙂

I wonder how much was artificially stoked? I recall the bizarre 'metric martyrs' stuff, a proto culture war maybe.

Indeed, those heady days of the bloodiest battle on English soil. Oh to dream of 20 000+ northerners slaughtering each other.

Though may draw more attacks from corvids - a significant risk in some areas i gather! 😁

We get a lot of fog here. White cars with automatic lights are incredibly low visibility - the colour blends perfectly, and because the drivers have completely delegated lighting to a system not designed for fog are very frequently unlit.

No colour will suit all conditions. It needs people to look.

Would there be anything against using a no entry and listing exceptions? It's possibly a more familiar sign, but accept there may be reasons the blue circle variant is chosen/preferred.

That must be one of the best #parkrun finish line views there is! Today I discovered that I can run in the sling, but that running up a mountain after 5 weeks of no running is bloody hard work!

Have we misconstrued Lapize's infamous (and probably apocryphal) outburst?

there's so much bad in the world but there's also people who lift up and carry an elderly bat around every day so he can pretend he's flying again, and that's the part of the world I think is worth fighting for

I have found some that way, but maybe I'm fortunate for my experience of it to be rare irrespective of what bike I'm on.

I was thinking a week ago that we were introducing our club youngsters to the sport with the right level of seriousness when one of them told me off for turning up to race training without my little plastic duck on the bars!

Sorry you seem to have found some snobby arses.

Sliding doors would be better for passing riders (or indeed pedestrians - I've had near doorings on the pavement) than either.

There are a few little things i want to make less manual and repetitive that I could do with a bit of coding.

However, I think the fun in them lies in working out how. So AI would probably kill any motivation to even bother.
