A gorgeous Yew ๐ŸŒฒ in Friars Bush Cemetery in south Belfast. Local legend holds that the Friar was hung from a Hawthorn ๐ŸŒณ within the grounds๐Ÿ’€

Yew are so toxic that even edible ๐Ÿ„ found growing on them shouldn't be consumed (so I've heard)

The ๐Ÿ’ flesh is delightful but just a few seeds would kill a ๐ŸŽ

The Rowan Fairy inviting the birds ๐Ÿฆโ€โฌ› to share in the feast ๐Ÿ’ prepared by the tree

In Irish folklore, however, the Rowan ๐ŸŒณ keeps the wee folk at bay ๐Ÿงš๐Ÿป

Growing by the river it keeps children safe from fairies that cruise the rivers looking for youngsters to take to The Otherworld

There is no certainty as to how one would reach The Celtic Otherworld but one way is Mag Mell "The Plain of Honey" โ˜€๏ธ โ˜๏ธ

When the sun rises and sets and casts a glimmer on the sea's horizon or sparkles on Ireland's rivers & lakes โ˜๏ธโœจ

It is at these fleeting times that doorways can open

Changing seasons are magical The Irish Sea God Manannรกn mac Lir lives on an Island named Eamhain Abhlach "twins abundant with apples" ๐Ÿ’ฎโ„๏ธ

The apples ๐Ÿ on this island are golden & when the wind blows in the branches of the trees anyone who hears them rustle will forget all their troubles & sadness.

Gorse is back in flower ๐Ÿ’›

It keeps malevolent fairies at bay when planted around your home but is also known to be a sanctuary for witches ๐Ÿงน When being hunted a witch may transform into a ๐Ÿ‡ and seek refuge amongst the dense gorse in the fields ๐ŸŒผโœจ

To ancient Slavs the Oak ๐ŸŒณ was sacred to the God Perun, the God of Thunder & Justice. He once broke the divine rules of the Gods by interacting with mortals (out of pity rather than arrogance) Seeing that we were cold โ„๏ธ Perun gifted us warmth by using his lightning bolts to set ๐Ÿ”ฅ to trees ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ‚

No problem, just glad you will get some answers, I know it took some time for Jock to settle after I changed his diet. I very rarely look on here but I did yesterday and the first post I saw was yours. Glad I could help X

There is information online too. Itโ€™s canine epileptoid cramping syndrome. Hope you can get some answers

Me too, it took a long time to figure out what was happening and the answer was changing diet. It wasnโ€™t nice though

Yes Jock was sick afterwards, he couldnโ€™t stand up and would roll his head from side to side. He knew it was going to happen too. If you look on YouTube at Cannine Epileptic Cramping Syndrome, that is how he was.

I canโ€™t properly remember, I think it was a trial and error situation, I know I had to stop giving him anything with Beef in it and he had food for sensitive tummy. It happened in clusters then disappeared for a long time then came back. It wasnโ€™t nice to watch it when it happened

Sorry to butt in but I just seen this. My Jock used to have fit like episodes for many years that turned out not to be epilepsy. It was cramping in his stomach a bit like CECS which is prevalent in Border Terriers. Anyway, changed his diet and it settled, still had bouts of colic but not as bad.
