What's the deal with Minnesotans and Michelob Golden Draft (Light)? Why is this beer so popular among Minnesotans? Is it the bland Norwegian/Scandanavian/German palate? Is it a lack of daring to try new things? I have been told that this market is the strongest...

Sounds like a very normal and well-adjusted time at the opening of RPD's new $14-million precinct building! www.richmonder.org/richmond-pol...

to reiterate, i think boomers—and, frankly everyone else—should stop writing these self-absolving columns about perceived lack of youth turnout at the protests without substantively reporting out the material factors that may be driving this supposed phenomenon (which is largely anecdotal anyway)

the lee dunk straight into the killdozer veneration is a real "the median american voter has an incoherent hodgepodge of beliefs and must never be taken seriously" tableau

One is the nature of today’s student anger. Today’s students certainly have plenty to be angry about, but President Trump is only the tip of the iceberg. If you consider what today’s students are angry about, it goes something like this: I am drowning in debt, I’ll never be able to buy a house, I’m more likely to have a series of gigs than a real job. And the planet is turning into a cinder.

in fairness to kuttner, some of this does get a mention in the prospect column (which, also in fairness, is not nearly as smarmy and vote-blue-no-matter-who-y as some of them have been.) but he moves past these massive matters pretty damn quickly lol

i am not a "kid" by any stretch but i think that calling up some actual kids—ideally, more than two brief quotes from your own students, as this piece features—would be more clarifying than filing yet another column handwringing about apparent lack of protest spirit among The Young

Mass Protest: Where Are the Kids? - The American Prospect The latest No Kings marches attracted a record eight million people. Most of them were of an advanced age that suggested they personally remembered the 1960s.

i think it would be productive for the boomers that feel compelled to write these pieces to grapple more honestly (or at all) with how anger and disgust over their generational failures on climate, housing, transit, labor, power transfer, etc. may be affecting youth turnout at no kings

Put differently: most Americans would rather hold out hope of someday being in on the grift than hold grifters accountable to the law.

but if that's the plan you'd think (or i'd think) sgws would just say that. right?
