Why do all the Pokemon in Pokemon Champions look like they are made with just a default blinn material and a color in the diffuse channel

After finishing Sun Eater, decided to go and revisit a classic. I've actually only ever read part of thr LotR, back in middle/high school, ending part way through Two Towers. Time to fix that! The gang are just heading into the Old Forest.

Just finished Christopher Ruocchio's Sun Eater book series. Now to languish in post-book sadness. Such a great series and big recommendation if you like science fiction / fantasy!! Always forward.
