Don’t worry, I’ll design a new one with a bunch of more recent cases, and after you pour in the coffee, it just says “Trump” like 20 times and “Barbara” once (knock on wood).

A man’s face is seen looking out from inside a full bear suit. The wood wall in the background glows with flames.

It is from the movie Midsommar

This is an excellent story. I laughed. I cried. I learned bread-related etymologies of common words. I got dirt on PR people who wronged the author. And I learned where to go for great free bread.

My post-publication submission: the garlic knots at Villaggio Italiano on Central Ave in Hartsdale.

Yeah, I love paper books, but I do a fair bit of my pleasure reading in restaurants, and the fact that my Kobo can stand up on its own in a small space and provide its own lighting is just awesome.

I do think the trial-court experience is a bit different from being an RA to a judge. It really was a crash course in litigation, in addition to the research, mentorship, co-clerk relationships, etc.

Here's Siavash Shahshahani, pioneering Iranian math professor & father of @shahshahani.bsky.social, standing next to the ruins of the Data Center at Sharif U., reminiscing & expressing his conviction that it will be rebuilt.

It's beautiful & powerful & sad, even though I don’t understand his words.

When the faculty readers are finished, the scores are tallied. All applicants who receive a 12 (straight fours) and most who earn an 11 are admitted. The readers are assigned a distribution for how many fours, threes and twos they can award so that there are exactly the right number of 12s to fill the class, Rangappa said.

Not sure if it's either, but I was walking across The Meadows in Edinburgh after a shower, and I guess I looked pale, and this small child walking with his mother looked at me, pointed, and said in a great Scottish accent, "It's a ghost!"
