Speaking from personal experience, I wasn’t ready to jump from my BA to PhD program; the MA was essential preparation – I’d never have survived and would have flamed out without it.

The terminal MA is much more of a thing here in 🇨🇦, and has the benefit of providing students with the opportunity to sample graduate study, to determine whether or not it suits them and aligns with their aspirations/expectations.

papyri.info would absolutely go for `lem|rdg` elements under a parent `app` element, but there will be some conversation whether `app[@type="alternative"]` or `app[@type="editorial"]` is optimal. The latter is preferred if `@resp` is to be assigned to the various `lem` elements.
