I'm sure Keith Pollard drew this at Englehart's suggestion. Everybody gets along with Keith Pollard, and I can't see him taking that initiative on axe-grinding.

Englehart wrote an epilogue to Secret Wars II in Fantastic Four that painted the Beyonder as a petty, childlike tryant/doofus and basically got rid of him forever (again), so it's likely he wasn't a fan.
