There’s a certain ‘other’ type of stress that comes from taking care of others - worrying about them, feeling you have to save them, and taking on more emotionally than you should. Sometimes vicarious trauma as well. For me, a hobby helped me not think about those things as much. Best of luck

I always say the “treasure” on Oak Island is all the money they’re making from their TV show and island tours

Of Mice and Men?

Trump united Canadians with a nationalist pride I haven’t seen in my lifetime, and included Quebec - pretty amazing. Grateful every day that Carney stepped in and that Maple MAGA PP was kicked to the curb. Shudder to think what we’d be living with if he’d become PM

Interesting tip! But totally makes sense.

When he starts whining like this, it tells me that everything we’re doing is working 😉

True! Gives me a happy glow - which is more attractive than a haggard, hungry look 😂

Catherine Deneuve said you sacrifice your ass for your face and it’s true. I’ve put on a bit of weight (natural at my age) and when I worked to take some off, I had sallow cheeks and looked 10 years older. To heck with it. Now I don’t worry about it - some moderation but that’s it!

They were both so good in this film. Also: I saw it many years ago and rewatched it recently - I’d forgotten she wore that ankle bracelet - she was way ahead of her time! 🔥

You are too young for this - I admire your courage and am sending lots of positive thoughts your way (also from the PNW but on the other side of the border)

So beautiful of you to do this - your kindness and generosity of spirit is inspiring

He threatened to make us the 51st state, which we will never forget. People underestimate Canadians because we’re “nice” - they don’t appreciate how strong we truly are

Maybe it’s a “keep your enemies closer” kind of strategy on his part?

Nope! You guys have guns, and a society where a good percentage supported Trump and racism, homophobia, etc. You’ll need to make some very big changes before I’d feel safe going there again (and I have no plans to go FYI - the damage has been done)

Quebec City is beautiful, if you haven’t been. Very European in its vibe - the old ville is a walled city with cobbled streets leading down to the waterfront. Interesting history as well.

It may take decades to fix this - I won’t ever go back to the U.S., and my adult son says he won’t. If he has kids, it may filter down to them as well. I’ll miss WA and Oregon but hey, I can stay home or go somewhere else

Tinking* is a thing - and I’ll be doing more this evening 🧶🤣

*per the Yarn Harlot, “tinking” is knitting backwards

I hope you’re giving him an adjustment on any times ⏱ as pulling out the egg not only eats up time, but it takes time to recalibrate and get back to the task after he puts the egg away. He’s already getting my sympathy vote (maybe 5 points in the last episode for being a good sport?) ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

They are 30 and almost 29 so I find it a bit difficult. But they also love the movie so maybe they wouldn’t mind 😂

Also - disappointed my kids are older; I can no longer call them my “two youts”

I love this movie, as do other lawyers I know, because it’s so close to actual court practice. We all know a Vinnie. We’ve all seen judges with that bemused expression. We’ve been friendly with opposing counsel. And it shows the real stresses of trial. Fun fact: the director has a law degree

I’m next door in B.C. and also worried about fires- it’s been devastating the last few years. I’d love a wet, cool Spring and just a warm (not hot) summer!

I saw a recent YouTube interview with him and he did seem to speak well but yes, more slowly I’m sure than he did before. Grateful he is still with us

Recently read his memoir, “Vagabond”. He talks a lot about his acting and the films he’s done, and comes across as a lovely, sweet person dedicated to his craft. I read the hard copy but I imagine the audiobook would be amazing

When I was a young lawyer, custody almost always went to the moms. A BC judge challenged that, saying Dads can buy ruffly dresses and take care of their children just as well. Southin was a battle ax but she was right. Love seeing these Dads and their love for their girls 💕
