Beyond lab work I was able to attend and present at the annual Stromlo plant pathology meeting, facilitated by @plantpathpete.bsky.social. This experience was done with the help of @plantdisease.bsky.social Steven C. Nelson Early Career Development Fellowship, and the support of Dr. Tim Friesen
A year ago today, I was just getting back from Australia! At the @ismpmi.bsky.social 2023 conference I met Dr. Simon Williams and a collaboration started that included me visiting Australia and learning about protein expression, purification, and analysis with mentorship from his lab members!
Can't wait to attend #MPMI25 to hear great talks, network, and learn so much! The @ismpmi.bsky.social 2023 conference was my first in-person conference, and I went to every session I possibly could, made connections that have led to collaborations and learning experiences, and grew my own research!

I’m excited to share that my first, first-authored paper is in first look in @mpmijournal.bsky.social , I hope this pipeline serves other scientists who work with fungi in understanding pathogen biology.
