I'm not exactly a political pundit but I don't think the attack of "Carney's so popular and successful that politicians of all stripes are desperate to work with him" is the big own you think it is.

So the new mod is the youtube gun lawyer. Uh oh.

Can't be Cancelled pre-game show featuring Kathryn Marshall
Can't be Cancelled pre-game show featuring Conservative MP Philip Lawrence
Can't be Cancelled pre-game show featuring Brian Lilley
Travis Dhanraj's appearance at a parliamentary committee might have had more credibility had he not hyped up his testimony livestreaming a 2 hour pre-game show on his 'cancel culture' podcast featuring his conservative activist lawyer, a Conservative MP and Toronto Sun columnist Brian Lilley
"Others say that this action is destructive. ... What is destructive is the insidious belief that the world outside your front door is to be treated with suspicion; that every passerby is a potential threat; that every neighbor is a potential enemy"
good @hamiltonnolan.bsky.social today
hey gang. just wanted to give everyone an update re: those promises I've been making for the last ten years about how I was going to weave a ladder out of dreams and climb up to heaven. it was just a joke basically
There are several Canadian media personalities, including a number at the Toronto Sun / National Post, who I think have become legitimately radicalized over the last few years and it seems largely linked to their use of X
Quite frankly, it’s outrageous that Mark Carney is cutting Statistics Canada. If he was Stephen Harper or Pierre Poilievre, I feel like this would be getting a lot more backlash.
Carney of all people should know the importance of high-quality data and information about the country.

The people who held Sa’d up as nothing more than an unbiased observer must feel so disappointed right now

"To my knowledge, no one told Jesse he couldn’t talk about antisemitism. I never heard that in a meeting, never in a side conversation. I never heard anyone say they left because of it....What I did witness was staff raising concerns about the journalism itself."

This is awesome. Print is such a good way to get around a bunch of distribution (and surveillance!) mechanisms that seem otherwise mandatory in this very gross economy. It is really nice to see it spelled out like this.
It works great for us, and it'll work great for other places!

🎸🕺 As municipal elections approach, Montrealers want to know: what will the parties do to protect the heart and soul of the city?

Oh come on, you know what I mean.
I'm probably being too sensitive here, it just feels like this happens a lot.
lol, man. This is a whole new level of "Nobody Is Ever Allowed to Be Happy About Anything".
We aren't beating those "progressives hate fun" charges are we?
This is simply untenable. There is no way forward with media and political classes captured by the right. Every time someone commits a crime you have to pray it's not an undesirable or it's purge time, then when it turns out to be themselves again they just shrug and wait for the next one.
Do Canadian conservatives actually know and respect Charlie Kirk?!
These are reactions are *insane* to me.
damn that's so crazy. picture unrelated
Say a prayer to those poor Europeans, stuck taking fast, reliable transit through their dense and well laid-out cities instead of paying an oligarch $35 for the privilege of sitting in traffic on a 24-lane highway to get to the Chili's out by the interstate
But large corporations underdtand that if their business is too big to just stop, the government has an interest in stepping into negotiations, ending strikes and imposing contracts.
This has disincentivized bargaining in good faith for the bosses.
i’ll never get over how blatantly and proveably lying is one of the best political strategies of the modern age
