The next cell in the series is about a visit home, mending the connections I could, realising some things just can't be fixed & a wee dug that kept me company.

Another piece I'll be exhibiting at the Royal Scottish Academy New Contemporaries 2025 exhibition...
This one is about my daughter.
Metaphorical Cell No. 11: Filling a February-Sized Hole; Single strands of stranded embroidery floss suspended on sewing needles; 1120mm x 1025mm/ 44.09"x40.35"; 2024
Finally managed to take some new photos of the pieces I'll be exhibiting at RSA's New Contemporaries 2025.
I've also decided to start sharing their 'secret' titles, as they all mean something to me. This one is: Metaphorical Cell No 10: The Etymology of a Falling Autumn.
480x400mm/18.90"x15.75"
Dropped off my work for the Royal Scottish Academy's New Contemporaries 2025 exhibition yesterday.
There's enough work to fill a 6m/19'8" wall in that tiny box.

Parental Alienation is real. When a child is turned against a loving parent, the damage lasts a lifetime. No child should be forced to choose. Let's break the cycle and put kids first. 💔 #ParentalAlienation #KidsDeserveBothParents #TheAnti-AlienationProject
The still of the bridge being pulled by the tugs made me think of the Bridge to 'Nowhere' near my home.

You win... I the only horrible person I can think of with my name is Jillian Michaels. That said, I was named after a character on an old soap opera—Ryan's Hope—who my mother said was, "a real bitch, but she had the best name."
Thank you. 🧡
Some photos of one of the pieces I'll be exhibiting at the Royal Scottish Academy's New Contemporaries Exhibition next month.

Photos from our first full day in Phnom Penh... Today, I'm in bed with Tamiflu and effervescent Vitamin drinks. Tomorrow, Ned's funeral... I wish I were here under better circumstances. Khmer people are amazingly kind and generous, and this city has much I would like to explore.
I hear ya... I spent a good deal of time researching libraries that allow non-resident memberships not too long ago, and although there were a few, finally concluded that I couldn't justify the expense given my current lack of a regular income. Unfortunately, NYC wasn't one of them, iirc.
It's okay. I still have my Mpls library card. 😉
Thank you!
And you have access to one of the best digital catalogues I've ever had access to. Melsa is by far the winner when compared to any of the UK libraries I've been a member of. ❤️
Weird. I'd not noticed, but I've also not been on here much either.
I have a 'mutuals' feed here, but even so... It's not quite right. I'd totally hop back into being a friend of Tom.
A cluttered living room that has been converted into a makeshift photo studio.
The current state of our living room... Suffice it to say: my husband is a very patient partner.
This is exactly why I am here. 😊
Hmm... I'll need to actually _think_ about this. I'm in the thick of deadline hecticness, but will try to respond soon.
Etymology fact of the week:
"calque" is a loanword, while "loanword" is a calque.

I always felt like that too... and then I moved. Turns out, I just don't fit in anywhere.
I keep forgetting this exists. I always forgot that Twitter existed too. I suspect I'm just not a fan of this type of platform... When will there be a proper rival to FB? That, I might actually _use_ on occasion.
Aww...thanks! And aye... They do an open call for proposals, but I didn't have to do that because I won one of their New Graduate Awards this year. 😊 www.s-s-a.org/ssanewgradua...
Current state of the piece I'm exhibiting at the 126th SSA Exhibition at the Royal Scottish Academy this week. It takes months to make +10 hrs (or so) to prep the template...Thankfully, the non-traditional install means I don't bring it to the RSA until Monday morning, though, so there's that... 🧡
This is most my bookshelf as well... An aesthetically appealing world of yet undiscovered dreams, untold stories, and untapped knowledge...
So... I never really took to that other platform, so probably won't use this one much either, but I guess it's worth a go... We'll see.
