École Polytechnique, Montréal: Remember the 14 On Dec. 6, 1989, the country was forever changed. Fourteen women died at Montreal’s École Polytechnique, killed simply because they were women.

ONE of the first things I learned about #Montreal when I came here was this tragic event 35 years ago: 14 women killed because of pure hatred. As someone who grew up with a single-parent mother, this horrible history of misogynistic terror leaves me with grief and anger.
