Earth day is coming up so tell us about the places on our planet that you love.
Maybe it's a pond where you learned to swim. Your mom's garden that has the best tomatoes. Your park, your beach, even your backyard!
Take us to your happy place and tell us why it means so much.

Palm trees against a blue sky
Enjoying blue skies and palm trees as I hang with other science educators. Getting ready to be inspired at National Science Teaching Association's conference!

You're definitely in a better position because you have experience, and presumably more diverse skills, but people starting out will have a tougher time, for sure. Remember the last tech bubble? This will be worse. We need to encourage those coming up to develop diverse skills that include comms.
You get my point. AI will reduce entry level tech jobs too. It's quicker to learn the base skills for AI, esp. as it gets easier & more mainstream, to do basic coding than it is to learn strong communications & collaboration skills. Often tech programs don't stress the latter as much as they should.
From Rocky’s alien language to Godzilla’s roar, can you guess what you’re actually hearing?
Sound designer Erik Aadahl, from “Project Hail Mary,” “Godzilla,” “Transformers,” and more, walked us through how he brought iconic film creatures to life with sound.
The companies that like to brag about how well their AI can code like to downplay how make IT and tech jobs will simply go away as a result. And all those humanities majors with solid communications skills could very well take up prompt engineering to replace low level tech bros.
Coffee maker bit the dust, so I pulled out the French press instead. Had the last piece of leftover Easter bunny cake for breakfast while watching goldfinches at the feeder. Great way to start the day. 10 out of 10. No notes.
Oh my gd, the Artemis II crew doing a parody of a bad 1980s sitcom intro from in space.

It is very easy to become accustomed to Trump’s ravings, and laugh them off. That’s a dangerous thing to do.
When Trump states: “A whole civilization will die tonight,” he is threatening to commit genocide.
We can’t allow that to happen. Congress must end this war NOW.
“He didn’t literally mean he would wipe out an entire civilization”
Then he shouldn’t have fucking said it.
He’s the President of the United States. He has sole launch authority over the world’s most sophisticated nuclear arsenal, and words mean things.

Flowers aren’t just pretty. They helped build our world.
This #PictureOfTheWeek highlights the power of flowering plants, which feed ecosystems, support pollinators, and make up much of what we eat. Rice and wheat are flowers too!
