The Victims: Fusiliers John McCaig (17), Joseph McCaig (18) and Dougald McCaughey (23). The teenagers were brothers. All were friends and Fusiliers in the 1st Battalion Royal Highland Fusiliers (RHF)
From the secret British military files: The British Army scrambled to confirm rumours that three of its soldiers had been murdered. The victims had military-style haircuts and underwear. Three Scottish soldiers were confirmed to be missing. The Fusiliers were then named in the British Army files
