All the craft level-ups, and all the ways life and art imitate each other, and the humanity of it all. Just because it's hard, I don't want anyone or anything to do it in my place. It's mine. It's me.
And also: the moment you look at your writing from months ago and realize this one personal life thing you can't stop thinking of? It's been bothering you for longer than you think. You've already projected it on approximately 7 characters from multiple angles.
The moments when it all comes together just right. When you look back at an older scene and realize you've already perfectly foreshadowed the Act III reveal. The symbolism you didn't consciously put in there, and yet there it is. That one line that makes you go, "Did I really write that? Am I cool?"
Full disclosure: I don't even like writing as in drafting. I love plotting and editing. Drafting is the tedious process that exists to bridge the two, and I would NEVER think of outsourcing it to AI because no matter how hard and dreary it sometimes gets, there are all these little moments.
Ugh. Bodies suck so much at times and put energy in all the wrong things. Hoping for the most benign outcomes possible for you!
Some days I just want to be a hooded figure in the dog park.
Or possibly a gelatinous cube.
When I say I'm good at English grammar, that doesn't mean I make no grammatical mistakes. It means I'm very good at spotting them after the fact. The entire shameful billion of them.

Rainbows are pretty and nice and generally the best, but not when you suddenly start seeing them around every light in your house...

...when I got bedridden and now people would rather have machines do the same thing worse because it costs less, and it sucks not just because of my individual situation, but because what the fuck are we doing as a humanity.
It just feels like talking about most things I think of is trauma-dumping😅
For me it's like... a mix of morbid topics that I risk sliding into all the time. Sometimes it's literal thinking about dying. Sometimes it's the spiraling state of the world. Sometimes it the capitalism and the AI and how a few years ago I had a skillset that let me earn money even...
Lately it's been taking me an uncomfortable amount of effort to avoid half of my social interactions turning into some versions of that "Do you guys ever think about dying?" beat from the Barbie movie.
I finally lost my shit about so-called AIs, LLMs, enshittification & everything fucking evil that @officialgrammarly.bsky.social is doing. I'm fucking furious, and not just about what 1 company has done. An open letter to Grammarly & the rest of the LLM hype machine www.moryan.com/an-open-lett...

What the actual ever-loving fuck 😬🤯😱
I prefer slow burn. I love it when characters get to know each other before catching feelings, then it really feels to me like they're falling for each other, not for their ideas of each other. Sometimes I try to write faster attraction for a change, but I struggle to make it feel authentic.

If any fellow Dust Warriors see the mention of Dust and immediately think about 4thewords—why, yes, this is me writing fanfic for our favorite writing rpg.
I am not these bones, this flesh, this greying hair, I am the fire inside the shell, passing the light forward. Says Skeletor vaguely remembering what hair was like.
You had me at "Chosen One (derogatory)," then "endgame poly" solidified it. Will definitely check it out!

I’m not very good with words, so today I’ll be sharing some of my very personal artworks exploring some of the complicated feelings and experiences I had over the past 4 years.
Honestly, it does sound really cool. The vampiric apes sound like fun beasties to combat, and there's a lot to mine about the idea of parent and child adventuring together.
Me: Has been using rain sounds in my headphones as sleep noise forever.
Also me: Puts on a soundscape that combines instrumental music and rain sounds while writing.
Me, once again: Wow, why am I feeling all groggy instead of focused? Do I need more coffee? This is so mysterious.
