The Case for Sticking Around - Alberta Views Let’s not quit Canada. Let’s make it better for everyone—including Albertans

Why should Alberta stay in Canada? The reasons aren’t just economic or legal. I hope you will read and share my robust rebuttal to those trying to break up our country. And I hope you’ll respond. #cdnpoli #Alberta #ableg #abpoli #Canada #SenateofCanada

This move reminds me so much of harper closing the prison farms. So short sighted. Didn’t expect this and closing the experimental farms from a Liberal government.

Crisis in the Core Seeing the Humans in the Harm

A thoughtful post from someone who sees first-hand the impact of the closing of Prairie Harm Reduction. (He works next door).

I haven't yet heard of a data centre integrating sustainably into any area.

For example, recently a Nevada energy company said it'll stop supplying power to Tahoe because of the energy required by a data centres. Ireland had to put a moratorium on data centres because of energy and water usage.

For decades, government has chipped away at the public service. Now you wait on hold for hours hoping to speak to someone who can help only to get disconnected.
Instead of fixing this problem, this government is making it worse.

Dress it up however you want—this isn’t transformation. It’s managed decline. And it’s squandering CanadaPost’s key competitive advantage that private couriers are using as a selling point. Shortsighted, wrongheaded and completely devoid of imagination.

I was just reading the Maine has banned construction of data centres. What do they know that we don’t or aren’t willing to see?

(1/) Grocery giants and other corporations have teamed up with big tech to raise profits through surveillance pricing. They're using personalized data to set individualized higher prices based on where you live, what you search online and how often you shop.

Im sorry this took me a minute to respond to, the topic has been really emotionally and mentally exhausting for me.

Correctional Service Canada (CSC) has not hired MLIS/MLS Librarians in a very very long time.

It's been almost 4 months since the tragic WR death at the GNH, and over a week since a stabbing in the RAH WR... and nothing is improving.

There has been a lot of talk, but no action.

We don't have to treat sexual harassment in public spaces as an inevitability.

Bystanders *can* intervene and change the narrative.

Join me this Int'l Anti-Street Harassment Week for a FREE training!

Open to anyone, anywhere. Cameras/mics off, so very chill!

Physician intimidation comes in many ways... I have had colleagues warn me many times "Paul watch your back, powerful people are unhappy with your advocacy"...

Carney is literally killing it.

A life-long banker meets an outdated postal service with infrastructure spanning the world's second largest nation- and *instead of introducing profit through postal banking* among other modernizations, it's flushed.

A 98.9% cut isn't reform. It's murder.
