i have many family members who are autistic, but all are boys. my family didn't agree with her being autistic. even after her diagnosis, it was "she'll be fine". but they don't know how hard it has been...

i don't really know the reason for posting this honestly but i'm just annoyed at how people treat girls with autism. if she was a boy i feel she would have been treated much differently and that hurts.

we're basically just forced to try feeding therapy at home, and it thankfully has been working. last year she would go days without eating with no safe foods and now she is trying new foods. i'm so so proud of her.

after switching doctors a million times, one finally listened to us and she was diagnosed earlier this year. she has feeding problems and was also diagnosed with ARFID. however there are no resources for kids younger than 12 in our area.

big rant: I'm a dad of a 4yr old girl with autism. the amount of hoops we had to go through to get her diagnosed was insane. we had been begging doctors to listen to our concerns since she was a year old. we had a doctor call her manipulative at the age of 2.
