On my crossed legs, a large hardback book with a photo of a beautiful rustic load of bread on an olive green cover. The title at the top in cream text: “The Art of Gluten-Free Bread.” Below the bread photo, the subtitle and author: “Groundbreaking Recipes for Artisanal Breads and Pastries” by Aran Goyoaga. (Beyond the book’s cover, you can see my cat in the background, loafed on the floor.)

I grew up loving and making bread. I lost so much with my celiac diagnosis but most especially I lost the joy of breadmaking. I’m hoping to get that back.

I remember a lot of people talking about "the Bulge" and wondering what would happen. It's so easy to look back at this and just KNOW there's something deeply wrong here, and wonder how people didn't see it coming--but this quote makes it clear that some people absolutely did!

A drawing of a Muppet-y Cloud Strife riding on a Big-Bird-like chocobo.

From this day in 2021: My nephews were curious about Final Fantasy after seeing a Moogle I drew and I described Chocobos as looking "kind of like Big Bird" so then I had to draw it.

"But AI uses em dashes and semi-colons and figures of speech, so you can't use them in your--"

Let me stop you right there. I don't give a damn what AI does. It will never impact the way I write. Ever. Nothing is less relevant to me than generative AI "writing" tendencies.

Noragami, my beloved

The one manga I've purchased in its entirety because I loved it so much...

If I can just help them be more deliberate, I'll feel like I've accomplished something XD

Even the distinction between getting stuck looping through Youtube shorts versus searching Youtube for specific research topics on specific skills... Not all youtube scrolling is equal.

So I hope to help them start being deliberate in their internet use. Smooth-brained vs. wrinkly-brained. I like.

Starting to talk with my kids about "smooth-brained" activities versus "wrinkly-brained" activities, and I think I like the distinction.

Scrolling youtube? Smooth-brained.
Using the digital audio workstation to make music? Wrinkly-brained.

I'm playing the new Dissidia FF game as Birdscribe (since I can't get "Avianscribe" past the aggressive censor XD) so if you're playing, come find me!

Not sure how much I'll be playing; I'm having difficulty getting invested in any games right now--but I'll be logging in now and then~

A photo of a painting on purple paper, placed on a wooden desk and surrounded by paint tubs, paint brushes, coloured pencils, crystals, and leaves. The painting features a forest bathed in soft yellow light, carpets of purple flowers covering the ground. In the foreground, long-stemmed yellow flowers resembling buttercups grow out of the clusters of purple ones. The foreground is popping out of the frame on the paper.

I finally tested my purple paper and I love it! ☺️💜

Digital art resembling a religious icon. A fat copper dragonborn in white priest robes is painted against a metallic gold background, with an embossed gold halo behind his head. He has crocodile-like scales and glasses and is exhaling a puff of smoke as he holds his rosary beads in his hands. In the background is a red border and the letters AMTR.

Aaaaaaah...! It would depend on where and when...! I've never tabled at a con, but for something specifically-themed like this, I'd make an exception if it fit in my schedule!
