How about you? Are you a dice hoarder? Or do you just have one set because that's all you need?
#dice #dnd #dungeonsanddragons #dicegoblin
Other people just really like the satisfying tactile feeling of rolling lots of dice all in one go, especially if they're playing a magic casting character who gets to roll bonkers amounts of damage at high levels!
For other people they might like to have a different set of dice for each character that they play, so that their dice set matches their character's *aesthetic*.
The reasons will be different for everyone, for some people it's because there are so many different styles and designs available and they're all so pretty, so they just like to have lots!
If you've ever played D&D in person, or just seen people playing D&D at your local game store, you might have noticed that some players have A LOT of dice!
Strictly speaking, you don't need more than one set of dice to play D&D, but it's really common for people to have lots... Why is that?
The NSPCC has lots of resources online to help you navigate conversations about online safety: www.nspcc.org.uk/keeping-chil...
Kids need to feel safe & able to talk to trusted adults if they are concerned about something they have seen online, or someone acting inappropriately towards them. If you can foster an environment of trust & respect you will make it easier for kids to talk to you if they encounter any issues online
It's important that kids understand not to share identifying information with strangers, and that part of that means not accepting friend requests from people you don't already know in real life, and never agreeing to meet up with someone they only know online.
Online safety is an important topic to talk to kids about, but it can be hard to know what to say.
I might be showing my age here, but when I was younger sites like Facebook where you had to be your 'real self' didn't exist, so I felt safe as an anonymous username or made up avatar.
In this post you can follow the continuing adventures of a team of intrepid young heroes as they progress their epic Dungeons & Dragons quest with Bristol Adventurers Guild!

Representation of neurodivergence in media is important! “Every child deserves to see themselves reflected positively in stories”
With that in mind, here are some examples of ADHD in books that are worth checking out.

With that said, if you're a creator and you are funding a zine which is aimed at (or at least suitable for) children and young people, please comment with a link to your project so that we can shout it out!

Creators can really let their imaginations run wild, and every year I prepare myself to spend lots of money on zines! In past years I have backed games where you play as three goblins in a trench coat, or where you explore a castle so huge that entire continents and biomes exist within its walls!
What's Zine Month I hear you cry? It's a month when creators of TTRPGs will take to crowdfunding sites to raise funds to publish zines (small stapled booklets) which either contain a whole game in booklet format, or supplements for games such as D&D!

If you're new to D&D then you might find all the different shape and size dice a bit confusing! In this handy guide we've broken it down for you so you'll feel like a pro in no time!

What other aspects of good worldbuilding really draw you in?
#worldbuilding #dnd #dungeonsanddragons #dndforkids #dndwithkids #bristoldnd
Society - This covers a lot. From systems of rule, to the way in which people organise their settlements. You can really add detail here, what kind of foods do people eat? What are their holidays and festivals like? Their clothes? Let your creativity run wild!
Religion - In most fantasy settings, especially for D&D, religions play a very important role as the gods are very much active in shaping the world and giving people magic. But perhaps you want to explore something different, what would a world with no gods look like? How would society shape itself?
Magic - In fantasy worlds the shape that magic takes, and the rules that govern the way that it works, are as fundamentally important as the rules of physics, like gravity.
History - Unless your world is deliberately newly created, there are potentially thousands of years of history for you to play with! But maybe it's best to just stick to a few key events such as rulers, wars, empires, extreme natural disasters and the likes.
Geography - What does your world actually look like in terms of land, oceans, mountains and more? How does this affect the climate & weather? And most importantly how does all of that shape the culture(s)?
