As someone who has been a professional software developer for a while, and an LLM code assist user for a little bit; refactoring code into multiple, maintainable files, is actually one of the strong suits of the tools. But you have to know to ask it to do that.

Ever start thinking about ways to improve society, and then realize you've just reinvented public transit again?

You're a more patient man than me.

Gotta go, can't post and hold a candle at the same time

Oh yay! We get candles now. I can play with fire.

And now for the final step of salvation, text JESUS to the church number so that you can get on the church mailing list.

He's very focused on this life changing moment of belief that brings salvation, which is nothing new to me. I grew up in a church that did this every Sunday. But this is SO focused on a change happening in this moment.

I think there's an interesting difference between faith and belief. I hadn't thought of that before, but this pastor is using the two interchangeably. I think I have a lot of faith in Christ, but I wouldn't say I have a lot of belief.

He's back on this "Christianity matters because it's true" topic. Interesting for me, who is still a Christian, despite not being convinced most of the Bible is literally true.

Morphing more into a "You're a sinner", fire and brimstone sermon now.

The rest of his sermon is focusing more on the humanity of Jesus, which I think is a good angle for a Christmas eve service, but not got a lot of scripture backing that up, which is disappointing.

I don't know that I'm fully down with this guy's exegesis of Luke 2:10.

Lead pastor now on stage, following up Mary Did You Know, "what if all of this is true". Yeah man, that's why people are here, they think it's true.

Look, I have a lot of negatives to say about this church, but this performance of Mary Did You Know fucking slaps. This church consistently delivers a spectacular live music experience for free every year.

The church is fine, they bought a building.

A video is now playing about a church in Canada that had their lease to meet in a public school cancelled. Which they described as the church being "homeless".

At one point, the lead singer tried to start a clap, and I watched 300 people all find a different beat to clap on. I may not have any rhythm, but I can still clap along with the guy on stage.

They came back to O Holy Night, but the energy was gone at that point.

3 months ago 0 0 0 0

They just transitioned out of O Holy Night right before the end, into some song I've never heard before, and kept singing with words on the screen like I was supposed to keep singing with them.

In Florida for the holidays and at a megachurch with my wife's family. One of the singers is wearing a turtleneck sweater, which is very Christmasy. But also, it's 78 degrees out; that is a performative turtleneck.

Having read Animal Farm for the first time this year, the core message seems to be "Joseph Stalin really sucks" which is fair, but also not equal to being a deep, thoughtful, complete take down of Communism people always told me it was.

Oh man, you can't get me this hyped when I have an entire work day ahead of me.

I had never heard of these movies, until I met my wife. Her family loves them, so I gave one a try. It was not for me.

And I think that's all the core Dropout shows. But anything from the last five years is worth giving a try.

Finally, some people get too much second hand embarrassment to watch without cringing, but I love Total Forgiveness.

Very Important People has some absolute bangers in both seasons. Smarty Pants, Dirty Laundry, and Umm, Actually are all good.

For D20, I find the one off seasons more enjoyable, and extra fun when there's a guest player you're familiar with.

If you liked the improvised musical Game Changer episode, Play it by Ear is more of that. Gastronauts is a really fun comedy cooking competition show. Breaking News is good, but not really bingeable, since the bit is the same every time.
