More sex, please, we’re economists
In a paper published last year, Elias Carroni, Davide Dragone and
Marina Della Giusta, three Italian economists, predicted that
“digital sex”, such as online porn and virtual companionship, reduces the social and psychological cost of selling sex, as abundance erodes stigma. Replacing physical intimacy with the digital
sort, they argued, may cause a slew of economic consequences,
starting with a faster decline in fertility rates. Greater supply of
sexual services may also cause prices to fall, further spurring demand. Only a very dismal scientist wouldn’t be interested in
whether they are right.

It's so nice being cited by The Economist for our paper on sex work with Elias Carroni and Marina Della Giusta.
The closing sentence of the article is awesome!

It's a model about the interaction between eating and exercising, being fit and body weight.
We show that resting (for some time) can be an excellent idea, and we give a formal definition to the notion of lifestyle and remediation plans if often casually used in the literature.

ICE, Trump’s private army How a federal agency became a paramilitary force, built a parallel prison system, and now answers to the president alone—while Washington lectures Europe on democracy

🧵 For the past two days, we’ve been watching something obscene unfold.
The Trump administration is portraying the victim of ICE violence as a terrorist and the killer as a hero shielded by absolute immunity.
On one point, however, they tell the truth.

As of this writing, the retraction stands with its factually inaccurate notice. I continue
to seek its withdrawal and replacement with a corrective notice that accurately reflects
both the scientific committee’s conclusions and the actual content of the March 2025 publications.

Da quando la Commissione Europea ha multato X, gli oligarchi russi e americani gridano alla censura.
Ma la realtà è completamente diversa. 👇
