Matts been for 2 snoozes today (after an early run to Altrincham market for goodies).

We’ve cleaned downstairs, & he’s making a chilli, after marinading a leg of lamb which we’ll have for lunch tomorrow.

I’m still in the bath & have poured my 2nd glass of wine.

Wonderful. Bloody wonderful.

One of my cucumber seedlings has been devoured. And yes, I realise I accept an element of this disappointment by trying to grow things but a tiny bit of understanding for the sadness when it happens wouldn’t go a fucking miss.

If I’m at the gym everyone needs to know I’m at the gym.

Damn it. I need someone lovely who is or can pretend to be a scientist to make a 4yr olds day. My friends girl wants to let ‘the scientists’ know she’s got a good name for a particular primrose in their garden.

I have sown things in my little raised planters too. There’s some tiny carrot seedlings in one and the other has some spring onion, lettuce and radish growing.

Plus more carrots and some parsnips in another, and more spring onion, radish and some beetroot in the last one. No pics.

I planted 4 pumpkin seeds today, and you can *just* see the other two courgettes now and finally I have 2/3 cucumber seedlings.

No idea where it’s all going to go 😅

And today I potted on my 4 baby butternut squash seedlings. Plus a green and yellow courgette, and a summer ball (round yellow) courgette that was shop bought when I had a panic that my seeds might not germinate.

There are some dwarf French beans and some peas only recently planted, so no signs of them yet. And a few san Marzano and gardener’s delight tomatoes. And I’ve separated out the kale seedlings and kept 3.

The big tray is flowers. We have sunflowers, cosmos, marigolds, nasturtium yet to pop, a couple of lupin and white cosmos.

White onions, leeks and zinnia yet to pop and baby cornflowers doing well. Am hoping to use these little pots like plug plants to fill in gaps in the beds with cornflowers.

Little greenhouse update:

Ok so we have red onions, cauliflower, broccoli, brussel sprouts & purple sprouting broccoli.

Don’t tell Matt but I’m starting to warm to the idea of letting crumpets cool a bit before you butter them so the butter doesn’t all completely melt away in to crumpet cum.

It’s supposed to warm the terracotta pot so it radiates the heat a bit more I believe. No idea if it works well enough, I have two little ones in our greenhouse with the bigger tea lights. I don’t always remember tho

My other seedlings *are* in our not much better than your greenhouse but I do go light tealights (inside small terracotta pots on a saucer) when I remember of an evening to try and make sure they don’t all totally freeze. Tho expect your frosts harder than ours.

Well at least you’ve time to sow more. Because two of my fuckers are still taking their sweet time to do anything so you’re no further behind than me.
