Thanks for the listen!
Just discovered this exciting new project - or new incarnation of an ongoing project - regarding the experiences of first-generation students in the academy. It's exciting to see SSHRC funding podcasts, a medium that is ideal for knowledge mobilization.
Thanks, Christopher!

And there are many more amazing articles in this issue, I’m just thrilled at all this local content as I exit this editorial role! Please check it out! journals.lib.unb.ca/index.php/Ac...
This article on Marshall is partially published in Mi’kmaq, and the issue also includes a research article by Colin Osmond on the Mi’kmaq history of Marigomish in Pictou County. The local context of my new community published in the journal that I love makes this send off especially poignant.
This issue features cover art by Alan Sylliboy from the @stfx-university.bsky.social art collection and a forum drawn from our recent hosting of learning lodges in honour of the 25th anniversary of the Marshall Decision led by my wonderful StFX colleagues Dr. Jane McMillan and Elder Kerry Prosper.
Having just finished my last editorial meeting as co-editor of @acadiensis.bsky.social, I feel bittersweet announcing our latest issue. I am extremely proud of the work we did with Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqiyik language publishing over my four-year term as co-editor.
"Overall, we believe that Canadians can, and should, scrutinize Robert Carney’s past views on schooling for Indigenous Peoples, press Mark Carney to clarify his commitment to truth and reconciliation, and challenge the twisting of truth by residential school denialists."
Join us for the 2025 Department of English Honours Thesis Colloquium, where our talented students will present their research.
This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with critical discussions and support student research. Whether you're a student or professor, we’d love to see you there!
