There is a complete discord between US news and the rest of the world. 3 different international news agencies report that Iran will not entertain any negotiations until the blockade of Iranian ports is lifted.

Do not believe anything the regime in the US is telling you.

Pope is reading Lippman: When simulation becomes the norm... we come to live within bubbles, impermeable to one another. Feeling threatened by anyone who is different, we grow unaccustomed to dialogue...risking not just error, but a transformation in our very relationship with truth

These are going to come for the left too. They financially motivated — Macedonian teenager type stuff for the AI era. Scammers profiting off of easily enraged people. MAGA may be more susceptible to ragebait but worth understanding what’s going to happen in 2026 and 2028.

In southern Lebanon, first responders are also targets. Jahan de Bellaigue follows a volunteer paramedic unit in Nabatieh risking everything — even as colleagues and loved ones are killed and the next call is never far away.

I'm a data scientist @ourworldindata.org and I need help from a botanist or someone local to Kyoto, Japan! 🌸

We present one of the world’s longest climate records: 1,200 years of peak cherry blossom dates in Kyoto.

The researcher who maintained it, Prof. Yasuyuki Aono, sadly passed away last year.

The obvious answer here is that the student protest movement was broadly smeared as anti-semitic and aligned with terrorists, and a variety of institutions from government, media and the universities acted as if that smear was true, threatening, suspending, expelling and even deporting students.

This study shows that disinformation spreads, not as “false facts”, but as narratives. Compare that to how mis- and disinformation are often operationalized in the big-N quantitative and experimental research in the Nature/Science journals — that’s a major weakness in the field.

A Nursing Home Owner Got a Trump Pardon. The Families of His Patients Got Nothing. At least three families won multimillion-dollar wrongful death suits against former Skyline Healthcare owner Joseph Schwartz. They haven’t collected a cent.

Nursing home owner Joseph Schwartz:
• paid himself $5M as a “ghost employee”
• diverted tens of millions owed to taxpayers & employees
• failed to pay at least 3 multimillion-dollar judgments awarded to grieving families

He also received a Trump pardon.
