From September 2026, Google is pushing a forced, irreversible update that removes your ability to install software they haven't approved on a device you own, with no consent and no way to reverse it.

I found that the perfect games to play between shifts and during downtime are Pokemon Romhacks. This one is Pokemon Crystal Legacy.
Fired up my old RG 35XX and got addicted to Front Mission 3. One of the most underrated PSX RPGs, and great to play on breaks between shifts because the stages are short yet challenging. The mecha late 90s aesthetic is on point. 9/10 from me.
When the 51 y.o. patient comes into your E.D. with "nausea and vomiting after eating bad food".
It's pretty unimaginable that were close to two years of genocide and you people are still talking about boycotting some brand or celebrity. Just utter disregard for human life and cognitive dissonance.

In my ED usually it's NRBM or BVM depending on the situation. Doing NIV pre oxygenation before intubation takes time, and more preparatory effort, but I'm willing to bet if enough people do it then it will become standard practice. Just like Video Laryngoscopy, apneic oxygenation with nasal cannula.
Finally beat Hollow Knight. Probably in my top 3 best Metroidvania games. Gameplay is amazing. Exploration and boss design are the highlights. Story is a bit too cryptic.
Overall 9/10. Can't wait for Silksong!
Emergency Medicine is a specialty where in one shift you can alternate between the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. And you gotta be prepared at your very best to take your wins and your losses.
Truly epic final which gave me the Nadal vs Federer vibes back in the early 2010s.

I feel as if AI is being used as a crutch for laziness as opposed to a tool complementing their skills. And that's a shame.
I'm truly wondering with the increasing reliance of young med students on generative AI (for better or worse) what will happen with Emergency Medicine practice down the line. #emedsky #emsky
Sorry to get political, but the new Trump tariffs are what your economic policy would result in if you put literal gibberish economic grievances as AI prompts.
Eid Mubarak everyone! Have a blessed and happy day.
It endangers your team and it endangers your patients.
As team leader or shift manager it’s not your business to guilt-trip people to work.
EM is a hard job even on the good days.
Having worked in Emergency Medicine for 4 years, I think we should not be feeling guilty for taking a sick day or time off, even for trivial reasons.
Obviously within reason, but you don’t have to justify it to anybody.
Too often I see people force themselves to work when their head is not in it.
Shocking and sad that this could happen. Sounds like some kind of quack medicine being practiced here with unfortunate consequences.
Finally finished Indiana Jones and the Great Circle after inching through it for the past month. Game is simply amazing, the graphics and presentation are top notch. The story is actually better than some of the movies. Personal 9.5/10.
Had a Pt the other day, coming in with chest pain after playing a football match, HR was 40-50, BP was 50/30, unconscious.
Gave initial Tx for cardiogenic shock but minimal improvement.
Gave him a "push dose Epi", Pt had IMMEDIATE improvement. HR went up to the 70s, BP 100/70, conscious.

#2024 goals of at least 10k steps per day finally taking shape. Hopefully it continues to 2025.
It wholly depends on the circumstances. I never do this so called "slow code" in my own practice because in an academic hospital people WILL notice. Never a good look when the trainees start asking why we're not doing what we taught them in resus.
Me in 2014 with no kids: iPads look cool I guess but I don’t really see the need to have one?
Me in 2024 with two small children on a 6-hour flight: iPads are worth tens of millions of dollars and it is a miracle that the market makes them available for a fraction of their true value

An investigation published by The BMJ raised concerns over the 15 years' old landmark PLATO that was used to gain worldwide approval for AstraZeneca's anti-platelet drug ticagrelor (Brilinta in 🇺🇸)
I would think most people had Pictures of You as their most memorable, but that’s a good one as well.
The Cure.
