A person who knows little thinks that everything he knows is important, and wants to tell everyone.
A person who knows much also knows that there is much more he doesnāt know. Thatās why he speaks only when it is necessary to speak, and when he is not asked questions, he keeps his silence.
True leadership isnāt about authority - itās about impact.
Coaching is about developing athletes, not using them to boost your reputation.
The true measure of success isnāt the trophies on your shelfāitās the impact you leave on the players you coach.
If youāre coaching, take a hard look at what youāre building. What will your players remember about you?
š They blame players instead of developing them.
š They care more about their own ego than their playersā growth.
š They fail to take responsibility for player development.
But too often, bad coaches do the opposite:
š They focus only on flaws instead of potential.
š They donāt develop playersāthey just wait for better ones.
š They allow bad attitudes and toxic behavior to spread.
š They donāt create a toxic culture overnight, but they tolerate it every day.
Iāve been thinking a lot about certain youth/high school coachesācoaches who donāt invest in their players, donāt develop talent, and tolerate toxic behavior just to feed their own egos.
A real coach sees potential, builds players up, and sets a high standard for character and accountability.
The loudest person in the room is rarely the smartest.

The more you say no to the things that donāt matter, the more you can say yes to the things that do.
āIf we can focus on making clear what parts of our day are within our control and what parts are not, we will not only be happier, we will have a distinct advantage over other people who fail to realize they are fighting an un-winnable battle.ā

Yesterday, the world lost an extraordinary leader and humanitarian.
Starting my MBA journey at Emoryās Goizueta Business School years ago with a welcome event at the Carter Center was a profound honor.
