lastly, i have to thank @fristart.bsky.social for being the first one to introduce me to the Two Cakes thing, way back in the day.

Now I will add, if you're not getting enjoyment out of creating your art, that's another question to consider. But I BEG you not to consider giving up creating because you feel embarrassed your work isn't 'better'. The art world would be missing out greatly if you stopped creating. <3

The metaphor(?) i've always had to go back to is the two cakes one. You might feel like your art isn't as good as others (we're our own worst critics, of course), but I promise you SO many people are stoked to see you create. Myself included. Even the artists you look up to feel the same sometimes.

That struggle is super real. esp when you havent gotten to draw in a while and going back to it feels like you have to play catch up >.<

Is that true?

I'm not asking for a lot for just a day of happiness.

Just, you know, maybe no new war further destabilizing the world, maybe a summer without nazis, or perhaps just not having another attack on my livelihood.

The bar really isn't that high, but alas...
