Graph of snow water equivalent in the state of Colorado for 2026 relative to climatological statistics since the 1980s. 2026 is current a record low around peak conditions typically in March and April.
Awful. Conditions just continue to worsen for Colorado's snowpack (and across many other western U.S. states), with average snow water equivalent nosediving after the historic March heatwave. (which actually continues today with more record heat!)

Spain's renewables build-out has structurally decoupled its electricity prices from gas markets. Gas now sets the price in only 15% of hours, compared to 90% in Italy.
Countries that invested early in clean power are far less exposed to fossil fuel price shocks. Those that didn't now pay the price.

And luckily it’s easier to do than completely reforming the entire health care system!

Had to become a presidential primary candidate litmus test like universal health care became in 2008. I feel like 2020 was akin to 2004 (2024 a mulligan for obvious reasons). 2028 should be like 2008 when it comes to reigning in scotus. No excuse for not signing onto some kind of plan to do so.

At this point, let them zero out the regular approps and have to survive on BBB. It will hamstring them and they’ll be on borrowed time.

Claw back the $75 bn. They did it with the IRS, you can do it with DHS.

Had to make sure that dem senators were at least on board before we could focus on republicans. Sad that that was even in doubt (with dems), but a Harry Reid-led caucus this ain’t.

No unanimous consent on any senate business at all until this ends. None. Shut it all down.

The senate should not be allowed to conduct any business through unanimous consent until there is agreement on bill language to stop these unlawful and unconstitutional acts of armed roving gangs.

He telegraphed pretty hard he was going this way. Waiting for something from Murry or the NH senators for it to mean anything.

Would be good to hear if there’s any info that this process isn’t just window dressing for a decision that’s already been made (not that the effort isn’t important/critical even if that’s the case).

It’s pretty clear to me that’s exactly what they are doing too. They want to be appropriators. Full stop. They don’t really care about anything else and it’s why it’s so hard to get them to use the shutdown as leverage.

Are you in a state with toll roads? Literally all of them use the same technology now. Might enlighten your state legislator with that analogy.

And they found the one Democrat (wyden) who basically offered the same plan almost 20 years ago

Didn’t Wyden propose this very idea with some Republican in like 2006? I think he wanted to give everyone 12k/yr (at the time) for health expenses and call it a day. Not surprising he’s open to this.
